  1. First ride on the new KD first impression...WOW. Most fun I've had on a ski in a long time. Ran 10 passes and didn't want to stop. SOOOO fun!

Depending on what part of the country you are in the "drift" can be significant. Our boat moved by twenty feet from May until July.
  3. Got one on the way. Can't wait.
  4. The new KD is the best looking ski I have ever seen! Have not skied on it yet but @twhisper is crushing buoys on it.
  5. +1 on Liquid Zone. Great site great people.
  6. I Have watched Terry run 41 in practice many times (I know it doesn't count). His height and reach make it almost impossible to get outside of 1 at 43. Give him 10 more inches on the handle he picks up 6 buoys not 3. He got around 4 in a record tournament a few weeks ago. He will run it soon.
  7. Perfect release. If it had not you would most likely have broken something!!!
  8. If you are on the west coast Train With Terry Winter is a good option. On line coaching and follow up in person at Liquid Zone in person.

  11. If you are on the west coast Train With Terry Winter is a good option. On line coaching and follow up in person at Liquid Zone in person...priceless!!!
  12. @RichardDoane Great picture of....Taters!
  13. @skihart the member Q&A section alone is worth the 20 bucks. I asked @twhisper about gate timing and instead of getting the standard pull out at the 55s turn in as the boat gets to the right gate I got a detailed explanation about how to deal with a less than perfect gate set up. Check it out you will be glad you did!
  14. +1 on TrainwithTerryWinter web site. Awesome to have direct access to @twhisper. The members Q&A section is really cool.
  15. Drove in a tournament a couple weeks ago and the cuties girls 1 skier said "shimmie on up". The boat judge and I were smiling the whole time!!!!
  16. I was a little late getting to the 2016 Vapor party but I thought I would pass alone some information that I got from @Chris Rossi that may help someone else as much as it helped me. At 5'10" and 190 ish I am on the small side of the size chart for the 68" ski I bought. After a few weeks on it I was thinking I made a mistake going with a bigger ski. I sent Chris a email and asked for some help. The settings he recommended made the ski absolutely come alive. It went from feeling slow and sluggish to "agile". They are away from stock settings and I would have never thought of tiring them. Boots 30 3/8 18 3/8 2.450 6.955 .765 9 Now I have the benefit of a bigger ski that turns FAST. As someone already said it is pretty cool getting that kind of personal help from the ski designer!!!!
  17. I should add after I doctored the fin and got the set up right this ski absolutely ROCKS.
  18. The top of the fin hits the fin box at about 2.460. The back set screw hits the bottom of the cut out in the fin in the back when the fin depth gets to 2.460 FYI
  19. Consider this and get the panda ready. The water at that lake is about 12 to fifteen feet deep at 3 ball and is about 4 feet deep at four. The ski sits nice and deep turning 3 and at at four it is sitting high with less grip and no time to adjust your balance. It drove me nuts for years. It's even worse going the opposite direction when you go from shallow to deep and the tip wants to bite at four. I spent hours watching video and making fin adjustments to no avail. It is a difficult place to ski.
  20. Last week I was in the boat watching @twhisper ski. After running down the line to 3@41 and being somewhat bummed for not going past 3 he dropped into the water and started fumbling around with his ski. I asked what the heck are you doin he said he was going to try skiing left foot forward. After getting up and switching his handle grip to match lff he proceeded to run 32 off at 30MPH. Off topic i know but WOW.
  21. @Horton Do you drink cold beer faster than warm beer?
  22. SOOOO Which will feel "draggier" being pulled across a frozen lake by a snow mobile or being pulled across a 90 degree lake by a ski boat?
  23. Hope this is not off topic but if we are brainstorming here is another idea. What would happen if the boat manufacturers (Nautique, Master Craft, Malibu, Centurion) put together a "team" of their pro skiers and each put up a sum of money for a Professional Ski league (think NFL). During the season the manufacturers each put on (pay for) a tournament (or two) at a different sites around the country. Points are accumulated by each team based on the finish positions of their team members. At the end of the season they put on a Super Bowl for the top two teams with a winner takes all payout. The manufacturers stand to gain the most form the growth and recognition of the sport and they are in the best position to promote the sport and their brand. Just a thought.
  24. @DefectiveDave Add preacher curls to your gym work 3 sets of 15 to start progress to 3 sets of 10 or 12, 10 8 reps.
  25. @rawly I was at the Boarding School the same time as you. My wife asked me if I would be willing to keep her company on a business trip to Orlando in April. Let me see Orlando in April... It's 59 degrees here and the water is in the 50's... OK honey if you really want me to go with you I will. I was really hoping to gets some "brownie points" but when I packed my ski she knew something was up. When we arrived she wanted to know what I was going to do all day while she was busy. She didn't want me roaming the streets of Orlando. I said I was going to the Boarding School. She said that sounds like a safe place for you to spend the day? As I was putting my ski on for the first set I asked what the lay out was And Brooks said pull out on the drivers side at both ends and the first buoy is always on the left. So I'm buckling my bindings thinking holy crap if the first buoy is on the left I'm going to have to change everything! As I dropped in the water Brooks said no I'm just messin with you first buoys on the right. After the first pass Brooks said I 'm not going to say anything after that pass I assume that's not how you normally ski. I said ya it pretty much is. I'm sure he was thinking where the hell do I start. Anyway his approach was simple, easy to implement, and totally on the money. I've had the same crappy off side turn for 30 years but he was able to tell me in order to fix that... do this. Worked perfectly. I spent four days there and progressed each day. The last day Brooks shortened the rope to 35 "just to make sure nothing goofy was going on with your gates" sure enough I turned in narrow and on my back foot. Brooks said remember when I said turn in with your hips over your front foot I said ya but I slept since then so I'm glad you said it again. He only had to tell me not to stand on the ant hills four time before I got it. Seriously The Boarding School is an awesome site. The lakes ski great, the new Master Craft is amazing and the coaching is really good!!! If you have to go to Orlando to keep your wife happy the Boarding School is a pretty cool place to hang out.
