  1. The boot is that good..! I almost skied to my pb and lately I’m in a slump and couldn’t run all my passes. Now I can. Can’t wait to ski again, this is money well spent.
  2. @dchristman reflex plate, the old carbon with the multiple holes at the back. Didn’t know about a new radar plate was out. At least, the little off center at the front is to the side that doesn’t hurt me. It took forever for the boot to arrive and would take forever for the new plate too. So for now I’m staying with this plate and look to it in the future. Thank for the info, it’s good that they addressed the issue and came out with a new plate. And boot is not cheap to buy without trying. My fellow skiers were waiting for me to try it, before purchasing one. Now I think that there will be some more sales in my area.
  3. @kc reflex black, since 2008, can’t complain, it’s just that the radar feels much better.
  4. @Horton yes the the newer trick ski rtps fits all three brands.
  5. Ok, reluctantly put the vapor boot on this evening…. Approximately to where I thought should be the right placement. Took the screwdriver with me and with a little heartbeat went in to try it. It was like a revelation, run 2x -28 and 3out of 4 -32. It was like having a better version of my ski or better settings, remembered this lost feeling of the rubber boot that you could feel the front of the foot on the footbed and your ankle naturally flex forward. My offsides were instantly improved leading to better leverage position when crossing, leading to a better on side as well. Best money spent, can’t wait to ski again. Was thinking that I would need an adjusting period, but no, every pass was better than the previous one and really close to what I normally run. I have high hopes now.
  6. It’s a 2013 actually ?
  7. @skierjp it could be good enough to hold the boot in place… but as you said it looks a bit sketchy…
  8. @Andre I only went to kaiafas proam. Only going to a couple of tournaments per season and my last was pre Covid. So I’m not that good to be on the national team and go to the Europeans. Maybe next time and only if I take it seriously and participate in a lot more tournaments. I say that every year though. ?
  9. @Andre yes, my concern too. I have the second larger horse shoe that I’m thinking of installing as an extra safety addition
  10. Just received my vapor boot! I’m going to use it on a reflex system. Don’t want to do any mods before using it as it came from the factory. Had to move the release to the front holes, otherwise there was some play. Question is, should I change the bungee cord? I put a strap that was in the box over the cuff and the bungee cord. Tighten as much as possible and feels that coming out of the boot is still possible. Don’t want that, also don’t want to lose the boot. Question is for skiers using it on a reflex system. Please tell me, now that’s been a while.
  11. This is a 30 years old ski, you can buy a 10 years old ski with a modern insert pattern for close to nothing…
  12. In my understanding and at a risk of disagree points… a deeper concave makes the ski sit higher, works the opposite of a deep V. I don’t know if the max has a deep concave or not, have setup a couple but haven’t paid attention to the concave or bevels, or rocker. Also like a deepV, V shape bevels makes a ski sit deeper than round bevels.
  13. Maybe a laced up HO or Radar boot will be more comfortable at his level. They do have something like up to size 15…
  14. @SlalomSteve yes… but you can s bend the aluminum piece using a vice, pliers, hammers, whatever it takes and put aluminum over the plastic which also reinforces the plate. Have done this a couple of times, but don’t have pictures to show you. It’s doable.
  15. Aluminum plate fits… no issue whatsoever, you can also cut the rear piece of an old aluminum plate, long enough to overlap the rear of the feather frame. Countersunks through both plate tightened with nuts and voila, you have the long plate you want without buying a new HRT. Personally I would like any HRT on aluminum plate, old or new over the feather frame one. The above mod also makes the whole binding more durable.
  16. A Pakistani company makes this type of gloves, at least some or most if not all. There are some quality variations but overall gloves are pretty much the same. I think they offer two qualities and possibly some brands have a better quality control. I’ve seen this type of gloves originally from progear and then MSN and Buzotta’s Pkb and Savvas Pandeli SP and ML and Ho and other brands. There could also be some sizing variations too. I think MSNs have the coolest colors though…
  17. @ghutch my apologies in advance, hope you find something for your friend and hope you won’t hate me, but stupidly I want to respond to this with what came to my mind when I read the title… Where I come from, this was an old joke advertisement, not a very funny one… I know I will burn in hell, but couldn’t help it.
  18. @skibug Eduardo Marenzani rides the Neo… now at the San Gervasio pro tour stop. Run 4@39, they said that it was a PB. Saw the Neo and it was a first for me…
  19. Wow…For a guy that was out for 15 years… you picked it up really fast! A rope out of the box, it usually hurts my scores (classic loops, slide.. not so much) A dead rope also hurts my scores at a degree… I like quality stuff when it comes to my skiing, Chinese ropes of some other brands, are not my preference. ML Deluxe and opt2 are really good quality ropes and now s lines are also of the same high quality. As far as this topic, I’m reading with great interest and thinking of giving a try at the less stretchy ropes, in relation to what it feels off the second wake and the way to the buoy.
  20. I have skied the comp series and the s. And have compared each other and my opt2. My s series (about 30 sets) has a give that I like. The opt2 (a year of use) has little less stretch and the competition series (about 10 sets) has less give than the opt2, more similar to the ML deluxe. Haven’t tried the stiffest s line, mostly because I feel that a little give is better for my longevity….
  21. Now that I’ve watched more, I kind of taking it back. Nice camera views and not like tournament broadcastings of the past. What is missing in though is the commentatory, live interviews and in between passes of what is going on around. Like having Wade’s world type of thing.
  22. Watching pro tour stop at Botas, not easy to stay focus on watching… Broadcasting is not bad but it ain’t TWBC. Maybe it’s just me, I wasn’t a big fun of watching waterski tournaments online and the last couple of years I have become one, thanks TWBC!
