  1. @Horton ... Love it..VIDEO PLEASE !!!
  2. I am 6'4"@220 and recently bought the New Eagle Ultralite Vest XL at Performance. This vest is so light you don't even know you have it on. Have had several Eagle vests over the years and nothing compares to this. Will NOT hold any water and fits like a Glove. Floats me just fine and absolutely LOVE IT !!!
  3. The Masterline ERGO Radius with Clincher Style gloves totally solved this issue for me that I had for years. Also solved the issue of miss-grabs at shorter lines.
  4. Once again, GREAT JOB Marcus. You are simply the best at these interviews. The skiers know you and trust you. You make them comfortable and get them to really open up. Please keep this going, I can't thank you enough !!!
  5. When the optimized rope came out, there was so much hype about it, I went down to Performance and bought one. I had just bought a new Regular ML the month before. I skied on the Optimized for 2 weeks and could not tell any difference. Since the other rope was new, I went back to it till it wears out, then I will go back to the Optimized one till it wears out. Some years ago I only skied on In-Tow ropes. But every Tournament was using ML, so I switched to them. The In-Tow definitely felt more stretchy, and the ML felt like a steel cable in comparison. There was such a big difference that I stayed with ML, since that is what the Tournaments used, even though I skied better behind the In-Tow.
  6. Your right, one of the best inventions ever. Have one on both front and rear, and find them essential when dialing in a new ski.
  7. @skierjp ... Thanks for the info. I have a regular road bike and a stationary bike. It is just so hard to get motivated to push it at full throttle. Running outside was so much better for me. Especially when I got 3 miles from the house, I HAD to turn around and come back. When I'm on the bike, after a half hour, it is just so easy to find an excuse to stop. Just being honest. Right now it's skiing and Yard Work...Lots of Yard Work!!!
  8. @HMan66 ... I wear XL Gloves, and for me, it is more about the fingertips hooking the handle at the extension vs. the whole hand gripping around it. I use a 13"x1" ERGO and Love it. Never a miss-grab with the rounded ends.
  9. @cougfan ... One of the things that caused my knee problems was jogging 5 miles, 3 times a week. Now having injections, which helps, but running is out of the question...Is it possible to ever run again after the knee replacements ?? THX
  10. One time I was a dock starter and Will Asher came up to ski. I asked him, "I noticed how, especially on your offside, how far forward you get your hips and upper body coming off the apex in relation to the ski, every time I try to do that I feel I'm going to OTF big time and it scares the hell out of me. How do you get over that?" His answer was, "I just do it and know the ski will catch me." Brilliant simple answer....I never forgot that, and still working on it.
  11. Shane, You pretty much laid out the agenda on here for all to see, and caught Hell for it. Plus I was one of the only ones to stand up for you.........Welcome Back !!!
  12. Surprising nobody questions How or Why the Post got this information to begin with. Hard to believe they monitor Ski-Fly or BOS. Sure seems like someone is working hard to push an agenda against Nate, just like they did here on BOS !!!!
  13. @Cent... That's a hard call. Most skiers are in favor of the CG because it simply does everything better. With the WF, some Love it and others not so much. It is great for a very experienced skier who really can tune a ski well. You need to be aggressive, and it will reward you. Personally, the CG overall has the widest tuning range. There are almost no bad settings, and probably easier to find your sweet spot. However, for balls out performance at shortline, the WF is slightly faster and can turn harder at speed. Just watch Whitney on it at 39 this year. Without question, both these fins blow away a stock fin, so you can't go wrong with either one. How they transformed my NRG was simply amazing.
  14. I found the C75 and NRG to be quite similar. They are both very forgiving skis. While both will reward you with a FWD Stacked position, they will not punish you if your neutral or back. Also, both are not very fast cross course, but my no means slow. They also both have the greatest offside turns ever. You simply tune both for your onside turn, I think the offside would be great, even if you put the fin on backwards. The plus for the C75 is I believe to have a slight advantage as a better short line ski. Both skis can turn sharp, but the C75 can accelerate quicker off the apex. Note that I am comparing the NRG with the CG Fin and Whisper Fin installed. The Denali will blow away the NRG with a stock fin. It was remarkable to me how much the CG and WF improved the NRG. Also, I spent over 3 months testing and improving the NRG, while I only have 7 sets on the C75 at this point, and there is a lot of tuning room for improvement.
  15. @VONMAN ... In answer to your question, still searching. The only thing I have settled on is front boot at 29 1/4, and the S-Wing causes to much Drag, even at 5 degrees, compared to smaller flat wings. I've had the ski where it will really turn on a dime and accelerate away, but slow cross course...I've also tuned it to be fast cross course, but not slow down, and had to force the turn. So now it's zeroing in on getting it to do both. Fast and Turn. Weather hasn't co-operated at all. All set up to try some short/shallow settings, but wind knocked out today and probably tomorrow. Hope by the end of next week will have final settings, really close. I went through a similar experience with the NRG, and got it to really rock. This ski has so much untapped potential, I can feel it.
  16. I've played back and forth with this for years. The difference for me is that in traditional stack I lead with my lead shoulder, R going R, L going L, and with the "Edging Stack" I focus on leading with my hips. The best place to try this is on the gate pullout. You have time to feel the effects of each. The problem I have is in the course where things are moving much faster. The traditional lean for me is easier to pull off. Agree with Horton, you have to be very flexible to pull off the Edging lean properly. When things start moving fast, it's easy for your hips to start dropping behind. I don't mean squat, but not in a forward leading position. Bottom line, it comes down to what is the best way for you to move Mass Forward and be as efficient as YOU can be.
  17. @usaski1 ... You asked what do I do next ? That's easy Mark, just sign autographs, your a Rockstar !!!
  18. Ya, the others don't count because I'm prejudice, since he built my ski too !!!!
  19. I wonder how many Guy's have set a Slalom Record on a ski they hand built themselves ?? That my be a record also...CONGRATS to ADAM !!!!
  20. I believe Mike Suyderhoud built a Ski Lake Community in Redding a few years ago also.
  21. @Horton ... I only have a few sets on my Large C75, but what I found was Long/Shallow worked great thru 32 off, however, for the short line lengths, short/deep works better, especially if you need to scrap. My Reflex is 29.25 and feels great there.
  22. @DaveD ... There is a Hover Board that a Guy just flew across the English Channel standing on. Check it out on You-Tube.... Totally Rad, so there is hope.
  23. Mark, be very, very, proud of yourself, you are a great inspiration to a lot of people..Love ya man, keep up the good work !!!
  24. Tested a lot of skis and fins this year and what I concluded on this subject is that long shallow settings help the ski to be faster, and seem easier to ski with up through 32 off. Once you get to 35 off and shorter, the ski accelerates faster on it's own, due to the shorter line lengths, and doesn't need that extra speed, and responds better to the shorter/deeper settings. These help to turn better at faster speeds and to scrap better. Something I need a lot of unfortunately.
