  1. SHOCKER. Dam that was fast. Full for a few months a few months ago full now dry as usual. @LoopSki delta really isn’t gross. The river has a current so it’s always stirred up. I used to ski out there for 20 plus year before leaving California. For skiers in the Bay Area it’s the delta or public lakes and only one that I know of has one Lake Berryessa.. Monacello ski club
  2. @Horton yes. I still see scores the same. It has made all drives legit as far as the path. If bad the scorer will call a bad boat path you can’t have any longer.
  3. Take some time off and don’t think about skiing. Now on the flip side when you are skiing good press hard and build muscle memory.
  4. @Mateo_Vargas I agree I’ve seen your deep water starts.
  5. @Horton if you mean recreation mode? No. The only difference is you can change the speed in .1 increments. Everything else is the same.
  6. @Horton I see the kids going first in most tournaments because it brings the parents out to volunteer as dock starters judges so forth-on the west coast. If M3-5 went first other then the boat crew there may not be any one else to help.
  7. I believe sure path gives everyone a far ride. It forces the driver to limit the side to side slide. I believe it woke up many driver who thought they were good may need some more wheel time. although a driver still has to drive to the skiers rhythm not the and not sure path numbers.
  8. @HSL start with factory settings. Make that your start point. Why adjust the fin if you have no clue as to how the ski will ride or perform.
  9. I agree with scoke. Gates one and 2 ball are the keys to the pass.and to slow enough to come through with angle and manage the load created from such a short rope. Everything is magnified multiple times as the rope gets shorter They all need to break past 3 ball to be competitive in the chase to catch Nate and Freddie.
  10. @ETskier both ML optimized and Pro ropes will or should be offered at regionals and nationals. The optimized rope is not crap as drago says. It’s just a different. The optimized rope is more forgiving rope when you load the boat. It has a bit more stretch vs the other ropes. I know many pros that use the optimized rope for practice and they don’t have any difference in performance. If you’re using a radar I would go with the ML PRO. you will not be disappointed.
  11. @Ham_Wallace I agree with you on the format. It would be fun and challenging at the same time. The only flaw is would the LOC be able to get 2 like boats? In some areas they have a hard time getting one. Not trying to be negative but realistically boat are an issue now. Would you be able to ski 2 separate boats in this event?
  12. If the boat was ordered prior to 2012 or taken delivery can’t remember the it most likely will not have cats unless it went to California
  13. @75Tique is you HOA built around a natural lake? If so I would look into whether or not the HOA has any authority on how to regulate what happens on the lake. It may be a county or state issue. Here in Florida I do not know of any HOA that has lake authority over what goes on.
  14. @Horton is the cost of water the driving force to keep he lake dry?
  15. @Mastercrafter so 40 skiers x 5 tournaments. 200 rides. The ropes are dead after 200 tournament rides.
  16. @Mastercrafter when do you think a rope is dead? 2 tournaments @ 90 rides per day 360 rides for 2 tournaments. Do you think the rope has any life left?
  17. @Mastercrafter those tournament ropes are dead after second tournament.
  18. @Mastercrafter a year old rope used by a club will wear out quicker due to multiple rides. An average rope used in a tournament will have 180 or so rides on it in a weekend. So it would be just about wore out loosing its rebound and stretch. if you are using year old ropes from tournaments the rope is dead done. It gets stiffer. When you ski with a new rope all is fresh. May have a couple of rides to get stretched out but after that is snood be good. So to answer you question a new rope will feel a bit spongy when first skied with. No the optimized rope have the same life as all ML ropes.
  19. I’m thinking Kidder or O’Brien skis.
  20. @bananaron a boats wake does not change. In a course or open water it is the same. What does change is the skier. A skier in the course will keep his ski on edge through the wakes at any rope length. An open water skier will not. They think they do but if you cam feel a wake or a hard spot when you cross that means the ski is flat through the wakes. Also when open water skiing you really don’t have any reference point to let the ski ride out or when to turn making 38 feel hard behind the boat because you are most likely not free of the boat. FYI every boat has a better the average wake at 38 off and shorter to be more precise 32 off and shorter
  21. @kc I believe the skis are too new for any after market fin settings.
  22. @Zman you are right. these boats are tried and proven over 10 years. The 200 has a better wake at 38 than the 196. There is a small trough at 38 and shorter. That was one of the fixes in the new ski nautique. And yes I do get into 38 and 39 in an actual slalom course. I would love to hear his detailed review.
