  1. It depends on each manufactures requirement. Most are looking for people involved in the tournaments and someone that takes good care of the boats so they show up in good condition to a tournament to promote that brand. At Nautique we sit down at the begining of the season and divide up the tournaments based on location and who might be going. Some like to pull more and others a little less, but it all seems to work out in the end.
  2. Rod, It all depends on your plans for skiing, if it is just to go out and have fun with the family and ski a few tournaments, then it doesn't make sense to upgrade. If the plan is to ski more tournaments and move your focus towards that, then yes it makes a difference to ski/train behind a current boat. Kevin
  3. Any of those tricks can be inserted into your run. I would start with the WBB and RWBB for the Hand pass and the TWB TWF for the toe pass. Have fun!
  4. @skierjp Please post a picture so we can check it out!
  5. Mine was only off a few CM at each length. A very good rope.
  6. When it can't be me, it must be the skis fault.
  7. @spartanski, you should check to make sure the wake gate is working properly. It can really affect the boats slalom wake if in trick or jump mode. On the current ones the lever is forward for slalom and back for Trick/Jump/Cruising. Check the screws to make sure they are tight too. There was one in this area that wasn't installed correctly and had to be fixed by the dealer.
  8. http://www.ski-it-again.com/php/skiitagain.php?topic=Search&category=Bindings&postid=20636 See the post on ski it again. Great bindings, Loved the fit. Just couldn't make them work for my style. Need something softer so I don't over do it out of the turn.
  9. HO Facebook shows a picture of Greg with his A2.
  10. Measuring mine this weekend for sure now.
  11. @horton, Great pictures, Thanks for coming up to Nor Cal for a weekend. Did you get the new blue swim goggles for skiing?
  12. @boody, Welcome to the wife stole my ski club. Just order a new one like I did, it is easier than trying to get it back. Kim, enjoy the new ski!
  13. @jimbrake, we both like the beach. Her more relaxing and reading a book on the lounge chair. Me more surfing/body boarding or other activities, I don't sit still well, even on vacation. I think she likes the idea of other things to do besides just skiing. So based on @horton review, she liked the idea of Costa Rica.
  14. My wife is looking at both trips for next early spring for a vacation/water ski trip. I think she is leaning towards Costa Rica due to other activities in the area. Can anyone that has been to both resort give some feed back on plus/minus of each? We read Horton's review on Costa Rica, I think that got Steph leaning towards that one. Thanks, Kevin
  15. He looked like he was running his white/black Nano at Regional's.
  16. I was the judge in the boat at the Liquid Zone Record last September and his best was 192 or 194. He was shooting for 200, but never got there. Not sure if he went further somewhere else. He is a great Skier & Jumper.
  17. Dirt Wins Men 3 slalom on the stollen Horton ski, that is the icing on the cake! Great job to all the skiers.
  18. Goodman's make a very good trick ski. It is well built. It is probably a better hand ski than a toe trick ski. It get's great air off the wakes. Kevin
  19. I skied behind Mateo's MC this weekend and thought the pull was great. My wife skied it too and said the wake was better than last year. Still not her all time favorite, but she said it was fine for 30 - 34 15 off. I finally got to ski behind the TXI for the first time yesterday. I felt the same as @Wish. There was definitly something there at 28 off, not big, but felt mostly prop wash. I was thinking the same thing as far as expectations, as all the posts were positive about the TXI's soft wake. Not bad, just suprised me a little. For 30 - 34 mph, my wife said the 200 & Centurion were still the best. She said the TXI & MC were about the same for her.
  20. @crashman, That boat looks familar? Conditions look great. Just remember, skiing only counts buoys, not how pretty the pass looks.
  21. @ShaneH I find that if the piston return springs are going bad, the prop will not spin as fast and have a dull color.
  22. @dirt, I'm sure you are just waiting to post that big score when @horton is there so he can't say it wasn't legit because he didn't see it. :)
  23. A little slower will help with the balance and then you can speed up until you feel comfortable.
