  1. Flew from CO to Orlando on Thursday. It was really nice to ski in warm water. Skied well at the Travers Grand Prix. My team even won!
  2. @Drago found a pair of my dad's old trick skis. He had engraved his SS# on the binding plates. How times have changed.
  3. We used to have a boat ramp that was concrete but our water level fluctuated so much half the summer you were backing all the way off the concrete. We put expanded metal like 6x6 squares. Worked great might try just laying it down and trying it.
  4. @Jody_Seal I have been contemplating ordering the diacom software. Guess you answered my question on whether or not I should.
  5. All the under dash circuit breakers are good and I did bypass the Deadman switch.
  6. @keithh2oskier I did check the grounds that are on both sides of the bell housing they test ok. I believe there is one more further up on the block that I will check.
  7. @harddock brand new optima red top a month prior to this. I have not load tested it but it will easily crank the engine over if I jump the starter. I also found the fuel pumps do not prime when I turn the key on.
  8. Ok so this is a very long story that I will try to keep brief. Last fall my buddies 200 died and would never crank the engine over. He called me and I spent a couple days looking at it before it had to go to winter storage. Never found the issue. We pulled it from storage and I am back working on it. About the boat it is a 2010 200 with a 6L analog gauges with a key. Things I have checked... Safety switch Neutral safety switch Circuit breakers Fuses Relays While checking fuses I found that the ignition fuses did not have power on either side. I swapped the fuel pump and ignition relay and nothing changed. I then took the wiring harness apart and traced wires. I believe the ecm is suppose to ground the ignition relay and it is not. I then took the boat harness out of the equation and put power directly to the purple wire in the 8 pin engine harness and put a switch inline to supply intermittent power to the yellow with a red tracer wire for the starter. The engine did not crank. I was able to come up with a wiring diagram that I believe is close to what I have. It is for wiring harness RA121099 and I have wiring harness RA121106A. They are for the same year and engine but one has the auto start function. I checked for power at pins 45, 60, and 79 of the ecm connector. I then checked for ground on pins 56 and 69. All check ok. I believe I have a failed ecm but they fail so rarely I am looking for advice on anything else to check and to see if anyone can bench test an ecm for me. Would really like confirmation that it is bad before dropping almost 2k on a new ecm. Engine: 02-601-01 Model: 505409 Wiring harness RA121106A Ecm: $C2790641 Thanks Travis
  9. @ScottScott this is the one I like using. https://www.robbysskishop.com/store/p81/Masterlinehandlearmguard.html
  10. @ScottScott the first time I did it I am not sure exactly what happened. Fell going around five ball and my arm went through. Felt my forearm get into the V between the handle bar and the rope. Immediate pain and knew something was really bad. Ended up with an 8 in bone bruise and it tore the last two Inches of my forearm muscle off. Completely tore my glove in half including the thick wrist strap. Decided I needed an arm guard. I tried the FM but didn't care for it. It was too big and I constantly hit it. I bought an In Tow handle with the bar but felt it left too large of a gap. Ended up with the ML version that is just a couple of section of rope. I really feel like it is the best solution for me. The second time with the arm guard I was going around four and hit a bit of wash that my lake gets. It stuffed the tip and kicked me out the front. My right hand rotated directly around the bar and between my guard. This time it went all the way to my arm pit. The only thing I could think to do was pin my elbow to my side and try to hold the handle up in my shoulder. Lucky for me it worked. I ended up just sliding on my back from four ball to between five and six. I had an observer that day and a great boat driver who got the boat stopped quickly and I could let my arm out without injury. My observer never took his turn that day as it shook him up too bad. I got back on that horse and ran 6 openers about 15 minutes after. Had a few bruises but nothing like the first time.
  11. In the description of the video he states that when he fell his arm went through the handle tore the bicep tendon and lacerated the forearm muscle. I sure hope he can recover from that but sounds more serious than the usual old guy torn bicep. I have put my arm through the handle twice once without an arm guard and once with an arm guard. Sure is a scary thing.
  12. I believe part of the issue is that you can't make a loop and fid enough rope back in to hold adequately at anything much shorter than a 0.5 meter. You kinda end up with loop on top of loop. Can't say that I have ever seen a trainer loop between the 0.5 meter sections of a rope. So I don't think it would be as simple as just adding a 42 loop. You would have to loose the 41 loop and the 43 loop.
  13. Can you elaborate? I have heard whispers and rumors but I'm sure not the whole story .
  14. Is there a Latrobe tournament this year? It's usually the weekend prior to Moomba isn't it? Was hoping to watch some skiing this weekend.
  15. Hands down Mapple. The guy skied into 41 at Moomba at the age of 50 or 51. You take 30 years off that and he would be winning everything.
  16. I have tried green loctite which is a step down from blue. It pulled an insert. I have the screws with the aluminum finishing washers. They still come loose. I have gotten into the habit of checking them frequently. Keep a screw driver in the boat and just give them a snug between sets. I recently got a bunch of the Radar screws that have the rubber washer on them. Haven't skied yet this winter to know if it helps or not.
  17. Sacha Descuns has ran 41 multiple times... No love because it was in Europe.
  18. Live in CO and this month will be the first in almost two years that I have not skied at least once. I have traveled south and skied a lot over the last few winters. Does it help with muscle soreness yes. Does it help your early season scores yes has my mid summer scores changed? Nope not a significant amount anyhow. So I would say no mid Winter skiing does not get you better mid summer skiing. Of course it depends on skill level. If you struggle with standing on your ski balanced yes it will help.
  19. Yeah either 65 or 66 depends on the particular ski and it's design. Most of them a 66.
  20. For me at a an early stage in your skiing life I would find out what local support you have and go with that brand. If there is a local pro that rides a particular brand or even a good pro shop. Someone that can help you setup the ski and tune it is helpful. What part of the world are you in? For me it's Radar. Have skied other brands and always go back to radar.
  21. Not much other than being in the gym. Work on balance and core strength. Do a lot of Olympic style lifts. Deadlifts and squats. Other than that fly south and ski.
  22. How much do you weigh and what speeds do you ski at?
