  1. I believe they changed the seat and the seat height when they went to the DI motors. I know the engine box got bigger and taller. Believe the seat changed to make it match. Used to drive a 14 a lot and drove an 11 and a 17 a fair amount this past summer. Only one I had issue with was the 17. The seat is also different starting in 16. It has more cut out the side to make entry and exit easier. I think after a few hours the seat will break in a little and be just fine for me. 6 foot 2.
  2. Kinda more of a second step but if the scum isn't too bad I have had good luck with the Collinite fiberglass boat cleaner followed by their boat wax. Love that stuff.
  3. @GaryWilkinson Google Aurora chemicals HC-1. Should get you to the site. Works great with fresh green algea and such. Not as good once it is dry but still pretty good. I have had pretty good success with toilet bowl cleaner. Get the gel and dilute it pretty good with water. Spray on and let sit for 30 seconds and rinse thoroughly. Then definitely wax the bottom it is basically an acid wash.
  4. If they are doing it at night or near dusk and Dawn try a goose away light. Or you can Amazon a Amber solar mooring light. It's just an amber strobe light with an optical sensor. Works pretty good.... At night.
  5. If you go to the Nationals history page all the results are there. Can't do short link from phone or I would. Awsa then 3 event, Nationals history scores books 91-2017 click 2017

Angola canvas did a great job with mine. Bunch of options and relatively cheap.
  7. 303 aerospace protectant for the hull. I use it between waxes. Wax with Collinite and then every other week a quick spray down with 303. Just wipe down after every use.
  8. She has said that if you want details you can contact her directly.
  9. I have seen this on Facebook a few time but was surprised not to see it here. Jennifer Leachman Lapoint has an idea to help waterskiing get some publicity. https://goo.gl/tm5AWN
  10. @klindy I brought the conversation over here as this really off topic to the Milton reservoir thread. 1. Who do you have emails for that you will be targeting? Former usaws members? 2. Where are you going to find out about new ski lakes? The club in the Milton Reservoir thread did not reach out to anybody. A perspective member did. Do they even want usaws to promote there site? 3. Why would usaws promote a non tournament lake when nearby tournament lakes are competitively priced and looking for members? 4. Why is a former usaws member who dropped there membership going to rejoin when the lake you are promoting doesn't require it to be a member? Don't get me wrong I am all for some sort of out reach program. I don't think the time it would take to send out an email about new ski sites (unless they require a membership or a new tournament site) will be a very effective method of recruitment. I think letting former members in my area know that some tournament lakes are looking for a member may result in bigger bang for your buck.
  11. @BRY I feel I know the ski scene around my area. For one as far as I know this is still a part of the Milton Barr state wildlife park. I believe they may have intentions of putting a slalom course in but would be surprised if it ever actually happens. 2. The algea and low water level in Milton was really bad at one point in time. So bad the state fishing website says known species of fish none.... And still does 3. For 3.5 to 5k. I can name at least 3 cheaper alternatives that AWSA could promote over Milton lake. For that much money you could join Laku and be on a world class ski site. Now I understand not everyone wants to be on a pure 3 event ski site. The question asked is why not send out an email to former AWSA members promoting this lake. IMO your resources would be better served elsewhere. If you start spamming former members with emails about every ski possibility within 200 miles of them you will soon be sent to the junk folder. This is why I feel you should have a local asses whether sending an email out would be good or bad based on the local ski scene. Question for you is... What is in it for AWSA? You are going to spend a few man hours sorting people geographically to your target audience gathering the information about the new club and then sending an email. If the new ski club doesn't require any AWSA membership how many people are going to rejoin? Even if all the new ski site members are FORMER AWSA members what is going to get them to rejoin? @coskilover sorry for all the negativity. If you want in a course with a ZO boat PM me here I ski in the Loveland Fort Collins area. When it gets warmer would be more than happy to give you a pull. There is also a water-ski Colorado Facebook page you may want to join. You could post about Milton lake on there and get the word out to more local skiers.
  12. Call Tim at inboard solutions. When I did mine it was around 4200. I think prices have gone up. I bet you are close to 5k. It is a complete engine wiring harness kit ECM and brackets to mount all the new stuff and ZO. Or you could talk to @Kelvin he had a 5.7L he was taking out of a 200 that would have pretty much everything you would need. Might save a few dollars that way.
  13. They are playing commercials all the time. Between passes during passes.... All the time. If you pay I think they go away. I just turn it on and listen to the audio. It's great! Superchicken wins Moomba with 2.5@38 I think.
  14. @Rpc29 hate to be blunt but I will. This is not a ski lake. I doubt you will ever see anyone on a water-ski. In this area we have many lakes like this. It is 2-3k for a membership with 150 to 200 other people. All you will see is wakeboard boats and jetski. Most will only tube or surf. It is a party lake. There are so many of these in Wellington they stopped naming them and just gave them a number.. I understand it is not about one lake. You are simply going after the wrong market. Downside is wasted resources that could have been put to better use. I like your idea. You would need someone local like I am to asses whether or not it is a viable option.
  15. Not to rain on the parade.... Milton reservoir is 1,445 acre irrigation reservoir. It really isn't a 3 event lake of any kind. I would be surprised if there was ever a slalom course installed. Last time I was out there it had a pretty bad algea problem. These kind of reservoir are pretty common in Colorado as we attempt to store as much snow run off as we can. It's great there is a new place to "ski" but as far as getting tournament AWSA membership....
  16. Angola canvas. They made my cover for my 2002 196. I heard they made all the covers for Midwest nautique so they have the patterns. Great prices too.
  17. And I thought AWSA had problems.... Kinda makes me happy I am not good enough to compete in any IWWF stuff.
  18. @dirt 36 mph. Then when you slow down it will feel nice and slow. I really think that most will try this at one or two tournament's and then go back to the way it has always been. How many of the top M3 or M4 skiers ski big dawg or go after world ranking/ team? I would guess these guys will train and ski tournament's at 34 mph. I wouldn't want to bounce between the two speeds all the time. I wonder how many people we will upset with a rule that in my opinion is going to be a fad. Give it two years and all but a small percentage will be back to normal.
  19. @Dirt @scoke hey now I slightly resemble that M2 skier. I say bring it on old guys. You might beat me today but I will be able to get out of bed tomorrow. I am totally joking. People need to lighten up around here.

  21. The first brand new masterline rope I used was very springy. That was the first time I was told I should stretch a rope before use. About two years ago I heard masterline was stretching them at factory and building them under tension. So I tentatively took my next rope and went skiing. Felt great right out of the box. My last four ropes have been that way.
  22. @ToddL how many times have we seen the boat judge forget to shorten the rope in major record tournament's? You really think there will be less human error in class C with this rule? I find the people stating injury as a reason for this rule to be funny. In one breath you tell me that skiing a slower speed is easier on your body but in the next you claim that shortening is equal difficulty and should be scored the same as speeding up. Maybe I am just having trouble checking my own ego. When someone asks my score I say I can run into -38. I don't say I have a tournament average of 104.5 or I can run into -38 at 36 mph. With this rule can I drop to 34 once in awhile and then puff my chest and say I am a 39.5 skier? You know everyone can run 38 in Awsa... I mean on the internet. This sport is about increasing difficulty until failure. Getting to shorten the rope is something many skiers work very hard to accomplish. IMO we shouldn't take the prestige out of it. I have tried explaining this rule to my non tournament skiing friends and my casual tournament skiing friends. I get glassed over eyes and blank stares when we start talking tournament scenarios. How can that be good for the sport? I will say I do like it for juniors. If a youngster isn't physically developed enough for the higher speed I am OK with them skiing slower for safety.
  23. Better gate turn in. Better handle Control and patience at the finish of my turns. Full pass -38@36mph
  24. @elr sorry didn't realize liking a post was so offensive. Thanks for all you do for the sport. I hope you keep doing it. Is it ski season yet? I think we all could use a few ski rides.
  25. Got mine in. Pretty incredible February in Colorado. 74 air 47 water.
