  1. @Andre I had a very similar fall a few months ago on my opener pass. Hit the wakes a little stiff, bounced and landed weird. I didn't hurt anything like you did but it was a total surprise and left me hurting for few days. It happened so fast, I need to put a note on tip of ski to stay focused.

@DanE @uwskier. I think the ecm for the non cat 343 would work on an Indmar engine. I thought about pursuing that avenue before I found sanger engine.

@disland the gm long block should work. I think you might have to change, I think they use special marine head gaskets, Brass freeze plugs. Maybe a few other gaskets? Not sure about the cam profile but the engine I got was for 3/4 or 1 ton so good chance it would work.
  4. I ski at the same lake where the UT team skis. They have a Mastercraft that is nearly new. Depends on what he wanting out of school.

I bought a brand new GM long block, 5.7 vortec, 4 bolt main for my pickup a few months ago for about $1900. I think they are making them in Mexico.

@Lars, my friends 08 Mastercraft has ZO. The two basic requirements for ZO are 1). E-control ECM and 2) Drive by wire (really throttle by wire). You'd need a DBW throttle body and potentiometer throttle control. You need an E-control computer to control engine. You might need a different distributor. New wiring harness or modify existing harness. The E-control computer has to have the proper calibration to match up with the motor and everything associated with it. There was a boat mechanic on here a few years ago that said he had figured out what he need to convert the mastercraft to ZO. not sure what years though. I think he was from the west coast. You might be able to use the PCM stuff Jody was talking about. Not sure what all is available for that.

@Gloersen the cat exhaust are one piece so I had to take them off at the heads and swap them to the opposite sides. I hooked up everything ran a communication cable up to the ZO head. Used a single puck. The ZO head I got off Ski-it-again used. I called ZO and told them what I had and they sent me a program to upload. The only issue I wasn't sure of was the throttle, but the potentiometer I used was for an old Nautique and it worked out. https://www.ballofspray.com/forum#/discussion/20143/zo-is-working
  8. I love those radius handles. Bought my second ML the last month. I'm try to get them to restring my old one as a spare.

I put a cat engine in a 99 Malibu Rlx. It fit under the engine cover. The engine was an Indmar conversion out of a 2012 Sanger V-drive. I had to flip the exhaust manifolds around. The engine came with an E-control ECM. I'm very happy with the results.
  10. Nate's redefined what's possible.
  11. I went from T-factor double to reflex front, R-style reflex on rear. I had the white top at first and I had no problems transitioning to them. I then changed to Supershell for comfort and that took a few weeks to get used. I was always having sore ankles before. No ankle issue anymore.
  12. What year? On the 16 when water would get up in the 90s it would get really sluggish in the turns. I would move the fin forward about an 1/8 of turn on the set screw and it took care of it.
  13. I liked the 2016 better. But you probably need to work on settings some. Maybe move the leading edge back some. It took me months to get the 2018 dialed in, it was doing the same but I've got it smoothed out now.
  14. I had a good experience with them when I did my ZO conversion. I was actually surprised since all the negatives I had heard.
  15. I skied Rod's boat a few years ago. Seemed fine. Nice guy sure he'll be straight with you about the boat. As far as driving I was comparing it to the gtr. They track they're on rails. My tournament PB was on a Carbon Pro at one of Horton's tournament.
  16. I skied well at tournaments with them. I did ski behind an early one that had a good size bump at 22 off. They're going to be harder to drive.
  17. How did you do stock settings? I'd be tempted to put it back to stock with stock fin. Adjust from there. Stock fin is fine for 15 off.
  18. I rarely ski tournaments so I have a practice PB and a tournament PB. I work weekends a lot. If I ever get to where I can qualify for nationals I ski more tournaments.
  19. @BraceMaker I can generally tell how well I skied by what muscles are sore the next day so your experience may not be unusual.
  20. If they need money for legal expenses start a go fund me account. I'll be happy to contribute.
  21. If I focus on straight legs I end up with most of my weight on the rear. So what ever works.
  22. Try rotating your outside shoulder away from the boat a little more, push your hips up and straighten your arms. Should put you in ideal position.
  23. @lkb huge improvement. I'm working on stack also. Skiing the best I've ever skied. 28s are getting easy and I'm not exerting near as much energy as well. 32 is looking doable. I ran the 30 off mid loop last week for the first time. I could be completely wrong but to me I think your bending your arms too much.
  24. I use the same coolant proof ones @skialex uses. Had them for several years and never had any issue.
  25. @markn that's what I getting at. Is the landlord breaking a contract? Is the landLord the owner? 2000 to now. 19 yrs. Need more background.
