  1. @Russell can you get the new rope with the mid loops?
  2. Years ago I asked a representative from one of the big three about a low end boat. The response was something like if x number of spots are available for molds each year why not build the boats that provide the highest profits. Guess if you want a low end boat go used like someone else said. Lots of good used boats out there. Leeski put ZO on an American skier and I put in on a 99 Malibu.
  3. I owned an Offroad parts and services business. I was seeing more and more centralization in the industrial and decided to get out. It was going toward a hand full of companies controlling the industry but I underestimated the effect Amazon would have. The guy I sold to says Amazon prime is really hurting him. With free shipping on heavy items its hard to compete. Plus, like perfski say we have to sign sales agreement with companies to not advertise below a minimum advertised pricing (MAP). For whatever reason the Amazon prices are below MAP. I won't buy on Amazon unless I absolutely have no other choice. I just read that Target and Walmart are out pacing Amazon for online sales this Christmas season. Good to see some competition.
  4. I never trusted their email service and would always put my phone # in the add.
  5. Torn meniscus in left knee (LFF) getting up. Ski twisted, loud pop. It happened in mid march. Surgery early May. Didn't feel strong enough to get back skiing until late June. Half a ski season gone.
  6. I have a battery disconnect on my boat that I turn off end of the day. I haven't had any problem with mine loosing its settings. I'm pretty sure both inputs are switch by the disconnect. I'll try to check for sure.
  7. 2 sets today in TX in shorty. Its been windy but not too bad.
  8. I usually slow down and work on technique and form. You can go 1 to 2 mph slower.
  9. I use the Radar bag above. The $50 one. It's getting warn, I'll be getting another one. No padding so you'll need to have a padded sock or bag for the ski.
  10. I guess the buckle was like those little wings Raptor sells.
  11. I did something this spring to my right forearm after not skiing for a several months. It was getting worse every time I skied so I ended up taking off from skiing for a few weeks until it felt better. No problems after that. I tend to overgrip the handle early in the season. I think this plus lack of exercise is what caused it.
  12. Someone here had suggested coating the back side of their gloves with silicon glue to block the wind. I never tried it but seemed like a good idea. My hand are what usually get cold, last few years I've been using the blue Radar Boas that have a neoprene layer on the back. They work good enough to get me through a set. I have a dry suit but haven't used it for several years. I'm using a rear entry 4/3 wetsuit made by Neil Pryde. It's good to high 40s in the sun. Below that we usual wait for a warmer day.
  13. @Fraser I know some people from Canada that didn't want to wait and went to Surgery Center of Oklahoma. They are a cash basis only and all the prices are on their website so you know up front what the cost is.
  14. I used a heat gun and they came right off. Hair dryer would be safer.
  15. I went forward/deeper/shorter and it was much more skiable. Before I was having to get on the front of the ski then would rock back coming out of the turn. I one think I'm not liking is that as I role in to turn into the gates there is a point that the front of the ski catches and wants to turn quickly. Its making me load early and kinda throws me off balance. Any suggesting on how to smooth out the turn in more.
  16. I have more problems when the water starts getting 95F plus. Once it gets cold its more for exercise than pbs for me anyways.
  17. Seems like back in the day they had an A and B team at tournaments. I remember skiing at tournaments my first year but didn't go to nationals. The next year I would have gone but we just missed out. No D1 D2 back then. We always were shooting for nationals but we were competing for one spot due to ULM. Its more about participation. My first thought about 3 divisions was another everybody gets a trophy thing but it's an interesting argument getting more funding from the University.
  18. I got to try the CG on my 18 Vapor today. Set it at stock long/shallow settings except 8 degree vs. 9 stock. One thing I noticed was that tail felt really stuck in the water turning. It felt though that I was skiing straight at the buoys. About half way through the second set I figured out that I needed to bias my weight forward for than before. Once I figured that out I ran a pretty nice 28off pass. It did take more effort. I think I'll try Caldwell's suggestion of forward/deeper/shorter.
  19. Guess it's all in the timing. I ordered one a last week thinking it would take months. It was at my door yesterday.
  20. I read on here a while back about going early, Like 20 feet in front of the gates. I've been using this to help me learn 32off. You can use the turn buoys to tell how wide your are. Then try to stay in front of them. What has surprised me with this is how patient I can be in the turns and still stay in front of the buoys. The other thing that has helped me over the last few years is learning that the gate sets the timing for the entire course. I try not to load too early on the gate turn in so that I don't get pulled up early. You can see the pros that make 32 and 35 look so easy because their timing is so good.
  21. Until a few weeks ago I was on a KD. I was turning about a boat length before the gate. Now on a 18 Vapor and that is putting early on the gates. I had some coachimg by top pros last year to turn in earlier and more gradual instead of the turn and burn like was doing before.
  22. I'm 6'2" 175 and the 67" 18 feels great. It turns great, my guess is either size would work at 34mph. I'm having the most automatic hookup out of the turn, I'm definitely going to plan on a 19 for spring.
  23. Took me a week or so to get used to the Supershell even coming of a Reflex white cuff. I like the Supershell for comfort though because the biggest old style reflex boot was still a little short. I put a molded insole the boot liner on the Supershell which help the fit for me. I'm using a Intuition Aqua liner.
  24. Did ya'll kick someone out of the club or something. Seems like since you just set them up that it was someone with inside information.
  25. Masterline doesn't have them on their website anymore. I keep looking to see if they build more. The Masterline ERGO seems a little stickier grip but I sure like the way the US gear ones float. Masterline told me a few years ago they could restring either one.
