  1. @jlittle if that involves a classy establishment I'm going to Compton just as soon....ahh heck I can't even run the course so you are safe. @gator1 cool perspective.
  2. First "job" came at 16. Family friend who was the preacher, teacher and did construction asked me at the super bowl party if I wanted to learn a career...thought about it for a day and said sure thing. That summer I went to work learning all sorts of things about construction and carpentry. He was big on the Career not a Job aspect and took the time to show and teach me things the right way. Of course this ruined me for future work. Imagine at 16 having the boss look you in the eye and say "I have never and will never ask an employee to do anything I haven't, can't or won't do myself". Yeah that makes working for a big company later in life really hard! Think I started at 6 an hour and 3 years later I was making close to 20, running job sites and working by myself when the boss was off doing bids. Was a great job and I dang near went into construction instead of healthcare. This time of year I really do miss roofing houses or building decks. Come winter or 90 degree days not so much.
  3. If a guy wasn't in the central part of the state and could figure out the hunting situation it would be very very tempting what with all the fishing and soft water year round. But I doubt my northern butt could handle summer in the middle of the state, I about died from the humidity in September!
  4. Looking very good! What kind of dock is that, I like the decking.
  5. What is the best advice to give to a wife who is still relatively new to skiing in order to get her riding her edge? She is on year 3 and has mastered deep water starts and is now starting to work on crossing the wake. A few times last summer she actually got her ski on edge while coming back to the wake but each time she flattened out well before reaching the white water(not to mention the "holy crap" look on her face). Apparently "just trust your ski it will hold" being yelled from the boat is not the correct advice to give.
  6. @6balls man I haven't read that many terms since x-ray school! Good luck with the surgery and good luck with the subsequent weight gain due to all the beer you will earn as driver.
  7. I didn't know Nascar fans knew how to work the internets.
  8. I see Dragon is out with a floating line of glasses now. Haven't worn a pair from them for years but I did like the ones I had.
  9. Find a boat willing to pull!
  10. Thanks for the screw suggestion @MattP. I plan to check them but never have known what size I'd need to replace them with.
  11. I smell a challenge there @MS‌
  12. Wife chose a Liquid Force vest when I took her shopping. She wanted a womens cut though, I'm not sure where exactly it sits in relation to her belly button. I doubt she will pose for a picture but I can have her put it on and take a look. She tried a few mens but said the cut wasn't comfortable. A good 30-45 minutes with a very helpful guy at a shop landed her what she wanted. I know she likes the way it fits and is cut but she is not an advanced skier.
  13. Woke up to snow and ice covered roads 20 minutes east of @MS and his open water.
  14. Still 20 inches of crystal clear ice as of yesterday 4 hours north of @MS. Even saw a truck out today. BUT there was a small small spot of open water along shore where some springs come out.
  15. Good to hear that @MS and @OTF have soft water!
  16. That ice will be gone tomorrow with a high near 70. Just let me know when it gets past dry suit temps as I didn't bring my dry suit down from the lake but did grab my sweet 1980s wetsuit.
  17. Looking good. And I saw a 68 in the forecast for this week so the ice is losing the fight for sure now!
  18. I'm interested to see how this works in regards to helping a free skier like myself.
  19. I've never touched anything on my ski except to put bindings on and even then I was guided by @jlittle. Heck the fin is set at whatever he last put it at.
  20. @skibug just get an electric dog collar. Tons of guys use em on their hunting dogs in water. I'll volunteer to hold the remote.
  21. come on @OTF I picked up a handle from @MS last week and my new rope showed up last night!
  22. The rain today has to be helping melt that ice.
  23. After the wind yesterday and the weekend forecast I say @MS and @OTF are both in the water before @Horton
  24. Run to and from the beer fridge?
