  1. Ford and Chevy have pony cars that cost 60k+- that can run with the 190k 911 911gt3rs And the interior quality of those cars is quite nice as well. So can it be done? I think so. 15 year old moomba interiors look pretty good Too.
  2. @skierjp seems to me GM has done all the engine and emissions work already. All the boat manufacturers have to do is piggyback off of GM's technology, then Buy at bulk prices I have no idea how much hazardous material fees are per boat, but it sounds like upwards of 20K+ per boat. There was a thread awhile back talking about options on new boats and I remember how ridiculous they were, 400+ for a mirror option. What I do know is if people are willing to pay the price, then people are willing to sell at that price. I am pretty sure they know that they will sell X amount of boats regardless if they are priced at 70k or a 100k so why not price them at 100K, honestly that makes good business sense. Know your market
  3. The impeller of a supercharger is limited to the drive mechanism. a 10lbs of boost supercharger at sea level will only make 6+- lbs at 5000 feet because there is less air. The only way to change that is to speed up the supercharger ie; change the drive mechanism. The impeller of a turbo is free spinning and limited by air pressure, 10 lbs at sea level means it is spinning at X rpm, move it to 5000 feet and there is less air pressure so it will spin faster to still make 10lbs of boost, way more efficient for all those high altitude boats.
  4. Boat prices have exceeded the CPI by a long shot. Cars I understand they have been legislated into many safety and emission laws that have driven up the cost, Boats not so much 1984 ski boat at 17k msrp with the CPI 103 todays cpi 251 the math 17000*251/103=41,400 what boats should cost now! or reversed 100,000*103/251=41,000 is what a boat would have cost in 1984 based on today's prices.
  5. Boosted applications have a higher/greater BSFC Brake-Specific Fuel Consumption meaning to make the same horsepower as a natural engine they require more fuel, (bigger injectors or more fuel pressure) but the smaller engine not under boost will be more fuel efficient also 2.3 ecoboost torque curve is very impressive, equal to or better than most N/A engines the focus rs hits max torque around 2000 rpm so if a small turbo engine has nearly identical characteristics as a natural engine but is lighter and real world more efficient than its n\a counterpart why wouldn't you want it. Plus, with an unlimited source of cool water I think they could make these engines even more potent and efficient. And cheaper.
  6. jason Paredes, or Tom Brantly practices without a course right?
  7. @halllpass that might be one of the best practical rock back inventions ever. Thanks for that, now I need to figure out how to make that work where we practice.
  8. How many water skiers were also pole vaulters? Similar mindset, core training and movements. I jumped in college EWU and post college (Eugene) going over 17 a few times, not as many as I would have liked.
  9. I have an outback and it skis great, has been a reliable boat, the 2012 model should be a lot nicer than mine Terry winter was sponsored by moomba years ago I believe, and ran into 41 with it Slower speed are bigger wakes for sure, but average guy shorter lines are fine Honestly you can't go wrong with an outback.
  10. I ski rff left handed, skate board, surf and wake board left foot forward and always tie my right shoe first, :*
  11. Can't wait to see the first water skier behind it.
  12. While flying over houston today I noticed many bodies of water and it got me thinking. How many great places to ski are there in Houston that arent on ski lakes and the google earth ski app. How many other cities in the warmer climates of the US have natural ski sites that arent added into google earth
  13. @zman when do you put the weed control in? Spring or now?
  14. cobra pbr brakes and what booster? what rack?
  15. I was excited until I saw the price. Sorry to say :/ I usually get a different ski every two years and a lot of times they are different brands, so I would like to know I could keep the fin and swap it to each ski.
  16. I built a roadster in 2002, it was lots of fun. Right now a four eyed foxbody racer, but your 33 makes me think that could be the next project.
  17. 422 dollars for a mirror upgrade? Does it tell you that you are the fairest skier of them all?
  18. Not nearly as fancy but I made this bench about ten years ago
  19. Mountain biking, and pole vaulting once every 10 years when I go into a new age group.
  20. @tel I envy that you have paint on your car :)
  21. project one Finish a father son car project Project two finish phase two of my mountain bike park bike park
  22. has anyone ever messed with weighting a ski differently? I know there is torsional flex and rocker flex and bevels and everything else but I haven't ever heard of specific weighting Example: a wonderful ski design except it will ride a bit to deep in the tail add a couple of ounces strategically to the tip of the ski so it doesn't ride as deep. Or offside weight vs onside lighter. Would it even make a difference?
  23. This is for anyone cruising through the Tri-cities with their bike. I have enough property to build a mountain bike park, unfortunately not a ski lake too. Still working on that one. But I have updated my property trails video
