  1. Nice ball of spray sticker! You are kickin it up!
  2. Also Countersunk holes and screwed from the bottom with regular washer and nut on top. Held all my stuff great
  3. Hips forward and up + ski + water= "what have i been thinking these passed two years"
  4. @Aswinter05 you can try 26 but in my travels I have found that with the skis most of us ski on, 26 becomes a little to slow to keep the ski feeling the same. Deffinately do 28 that's where alot of my improvement happened. That and 30
  5. @mazda reflex has a cut down version of liner that fits the shape of the boot, but for someone coming off double hard shells, using the full liner height of a normal liner can mimic the feel of having doubles.
  6. @Walleye I have a vivid image of Mondays sets where I would come out of the turn and not even have time to think about the wake because I went right through them in a matter of a blink of the eye. Remarkable when the advice finally makes sense. I guess you'll give the inserts to mom and ill see you saturday
  7. Also by saying back leg straight it doesn't mean locked it means getting away from this position (picture) and more towards a centered position. But the pathway to getting to this position is straitening the back leg much more than it was.
  8. I really tried to keep it fairly straight the whole time because it alows you to get up on the front of the ski to slow it down in the turn without changing much body position which is huge! It almost felt like I was skipping a step I used to use, because It makes me be more efficient
  9. I trust kevin, he knows what he's talking about. Measure the fin. I skied on a ski that hadnt been setup. Once it got measured and changed it was a magic carpet.
  10. Here's what I can say. It will be hard to dramatically change your position but if you really force yourself to do it, your hips will naturally move up to the handle , which basically sets you up for a great stack, and you will catapulted across course. It's awesome once it works.
  11. By lock and load I mean get into position and cross the wake without any hesitation. Maybe the wrong words to use. But bottom line i get out of the turn, hook up and with the back leg straight, I am already in position, all the work I was doing is gone because I'm in position now. I could honestly go on and on about this for a long time. This is great.
  12. Thanks guys, I really havnt been able to wipe this goofy smile off my face since the change, It is tattooed into my brain how easy it was to lock and load out of the turn and be across the wake and waiting for the ball. I just can't wait to go ski again. I have never been more excited to ski because now I feel like I'm really doing it right! 36 mph here we go!
  13. @shaneH speaks the truth. This could easily be the biggest solitary thing that has changed my skiing instantly. It's hard to do at first because initially it "messed up" my already messed up form but once I put my mind to it and just went with it, it was absolutely spectacular, my hips went up my ski shot across course and I was waaaaaaiiiiiitttttttiiiiinnnnggggg (yes that long) for almost every buoy.. Thank you Shane for helping me in my thread. You are a great part of this community.
  14. Not quite first ride but the first time I ran the course on my newly properly set up fin on my 9900 was like a magic carpet
  15. Today I went out on a newly healed tweaked ankle with low expectations. I started skiing and every pass I made an effort to focus on one thing the next pass focus on something new. On my first set I went out and focused on skiing before the ball, not to it. Second set: First run- keep elbows locked and low with my hips up Second run-keep handle close and don't give it all up as soon as I'm on my turning edge Third run- STRAIGHTEN BACK LEG Third set: Kept back leg straight and it was about the best skiing I have ever done, everything fell into place, I beat my practice PB by a half of a pass! Summary: by straightening back leg and becoming centered over my ski almost everything felt better. I can't wait to ski the tournament at my home site this weekend!
  16. By the way Tracy, we use meguires everything from vinyl cleaner to oxidation remover and wax. Our boat is a 95 and I swear it looks brand new.
  17. @Walleye I would love that! It will save me some stress
  18. @Eleeski if you have a link to the cheap reflex type bonds I would like to check that out
  19. So @eleeski you are saying it is safe to drill four holes in a 9900 goode? This would be awesome! Anyone have anything to say against it?
  20. I had seen that before but I don't have 200 to spend on top of the almost 400 spent on it so far
  21. By the way so sorry for the terrible English and typos, I'm on the road home typing on my phone.
  22. There I was sitting in the water dazed and confused after a hefty OTF I knew my reflex released. I twirled around to find my ski, as I see it, I see that the reflex hardware is gone. S&!t! Completely gone, and I know that it is sitting somewhere on the bottom of theis lake right now. As the boat comes around my good buddy @walleye is yelling at me to not move, because he saw where it went, he jums over and dives, comes up empty handed. He looks at me and then maps me out against the buoy and dives again, few seconds, and he comes up with a reflex baseplate. WOW my jaw is 2 feet below the surface of the water. I am stunned so thanks Tracy, you are the best! I owe you a ton! So here is where the meat of this thread is supposed to be. If anyone out there has any passed Experiance with skis that can't be drilled into and reflex releases. It could be a very costly combination. Currently I have six strips (around 12-14 inchs long) mated on both ski and binding. I was thinking tying a 10' string to my boot and the. Stuffing the excess inside of it, and the other end tied to the plate. If I released without the plate releasing, the ski would be fed ten feet before it yanked me. And if the plate came off I could just pull my string connected to my foot. Any words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated and could save me like $250! -KcSwerver
  23. I need calipers but they are all so expensive (and every one I find at the store is a 6") where have you found a fairly good pair of calipers for say under 35 bucks? (Highschool kid with only lawn mowing money to spend) Also I got a few pictures from last weeks tournaments and I really see why I am having a tough time. I am almost all the way on my back foot! At this point I'm just having a hard time slowing everything down in my head to where I can fix this while I'm skiing. It is just really frustrating me to see how straight my front leg is when that is the one thing iv been trying to fix. Is there any trick any of you have used in your head to force yourself to flex the front ankle and get centered over the ski? Thanks -kcswerver
