Durring my trip to San Jose California, I got a pull from a good friend, Jerry Heinrichs, last year in San Jose he took me under his wing and showed me around the Santa Clara Waterski Club and made me feel at home there was no question that I wanted to come back this year. Last week went out and got a set with him and one of the other members of the club. we skied great, then Jerry was up. I decided to ride and watched. HOLY CRAP THIS GUY IS AMAZING. Boat speed 30, he started at 22 off and skied right up the line and got 1 @ 38 off, and it looked absolutely effortless. Did I mention he's over 70 (sorry Jerry) so this just goes to show that a little hard work and a love for the sport can really pay off, because he I un-officially won his mens 8 division at nats. Congrats Jerry!

SNOB would be your best bet for best ski wake with open bow. First gen pro star 205 would be my second choice. Our 2nd generation 205 is almost a wakeboard boat compared to our 95 190 but that is just what comes with the territory. Open bow (usually) means worse wake for slalom.

2 weeks after my face meets ski incedent and after a tournament and two practice sets, multiple teeth brushings and disinfectant mouthwash twice a day, I Found a splinter of carbon fiber in my lip yesterday. It's about 1/2 of an inch long. Just makes me laugh, it pulled right out of the inside of my lip.

I also have a prostar 205 that I ski behind on occasion. I will warn you that as the boat speeds up that wake will get hard. It's important to be in proper position across the wake

At your age you should be going 36 if you want to be on par with tournament skiers your age. I also agree with @webbdawg99 Drop back to fifteen off. And start increasing speed to 34 and 36 it will reinvent the course for you.

I don't fall into the standard sizing of skis. I am 6'2", 135 pounds 36 mph, 15-22 off skiing I really feel like i can make bigger skis work. I skied on a 66.5 9900 all this year and loved it even though I should be on a 65. Recently I tried to ski on a 65 and really didn't like it. Here is my question. I have an opportunity to get a 2013 A3 for a really great deal and it is a 66. Do you think that it would be a reasonable ski to be on? Thanks! -Bryan Bailey

I'm taking the ski (and my backup 9100) to California. And when I get back we will probably send it to goode. I really do like that ski and I would hate for it not to see its way through -15 @36 in a tournament ;)

Bryan, You and I both started course skiing last year. I'm in the same boat! Here are a few things that helped me alot, a d I think they could do something for you too! On your pull out you look like you Are "pulling" away from the boat. Instead drop your hips away from the boat and lean against it. It will set you up more efficiently and effectively for entire pass. It looks to me like you are pulling all the way out to the buoy then cranking the turn. Try to generate more speed into the wake and get on your turning edge a little sooner and let your ski arc around the turn. When going through the wakes your knees are bending, try not to let the wake push your knees but try to keep your legs static, that will make the ski slice through the wake and get you out to the ball with little effort. All it all it looks really good! And I hope some of this helps -Bryan Bailey

They said they would fix it for 200 bucks. But we bought it for 450. It's hard to justify a repair that costs half as much as the ski.

@zman somehow in my OTF/side crash the ski hit my mouth. The doctor said I got 8 stitches but it looked like six to me. And they glued my lip closed (there was a big hole where a combination of my braces and ski tore it apart) I am doing great now, I have some nerve damage in six teeth, but I'm healing up quite well. Before and after pictures below. Thank you ballers so much it is nice to know there are people out there that understand skiing and the risk that comes with it. When I tell people how I did this I'm sure they imagine putting around the lake at 20 mph on two skis. But you guys really understand me :) On a different note, out of the prophecy, M6, and all other skis (those two, I'm especially interested in) Which would have a better platform for learning to stay centered over the ski. Also by watching my style -which I would classify as a smoother style that maintains as much speed throughout the course as possible (I normally don't stall at the finish of the turn)- is there any ski that favors my style. I know it's hard to say which is better because they are all good skis. I really wish there wasn't a price tag over 1000 bucks on a new ski, my pockets aren't that deep! Currently I'm thinking 2013 prophecy or M6 could be some badass skis. They are a ton of money though. If anyone has one that they are willing to let go of for an amount of money a highschooler could pay. I would entertain it. Iv already spent 500 bucks on the 9900. This just frusterated me that all that money is now worthless.

I'm not comfortable fixing it myself. Period. And I don't know if the work that goode would do on it would be worth the money. Anyways I already have pictures and a description sent to Mary @ goode and she will force it to someone to see what they think. Right now I'm seriously thinking about buying another ski.

After my accident last Sunday I hadn't picked my ski up untill today. I noticed this gash on the bevel and was wondering if anyone. Had anything to say about possibilities of fixing this. Or if it is toast. Thank you so much for the response. I appreciate everything you can provide. -Bryan Bailey

I would also agree with Shane. They make it look more aggressive.

Front leg is straight which puts you on the tail.
