  1. Anything plugged into an accessory circuit usually can't draw more than 10 Amps. Assuming 15V, you've got 150W or 511 BTU to work with. Hot water heaters are 20,000 to 40,000 BTU. An electric one would barely do anything. Installing my 40,000 btu heater was a nice winter project and I'm sure glad I have it on those few days a year I need it.
  2. Sorry for your loss Al. Your quote reminds me of this quote from Confucius: "We have two lives, and the second begins when we realize we only have one."
  3. @skiboyny looks pretty spot on to me.
  4. 44* water with 46* air. Fingers were numb, done for the season in MN now...
  5. Skiing probably the most in my life, usually at least 3 sets a week, sometimes 4 or 5. Several sets behind 3 different ZO boats and 2 different Stargazer boats besides my main boat (stargazer). Finally got around 4 ball @ 28 off (34 mph) a couple of times. Been working on getting around 1 ball without slack as that seems to be what trips up my whole pass. I try to think about applying more lean between the wakes, not letting go of the handle too soon, and trying to think of my 'glide' at 1 ball and my 1 ball turn as two different things.
  6. I've got an '04 197 and also regularly ski behind a neighbor's '15 response txi. Sounds like zero off is not important so I won't comment on that. Wakes are both great at 34mph, I've skied right up to my personal best (3@28)behind both. The response feels like a bigger boat with its higher freeboard. The rear seat in the 197 feels like its The TXI interior looks and feels more like a luxury car vs the 197 which feels more like a sports car. I'm still not sure how I feel about the touchscreen start/stop on the TXI vs a key on the 197. The DBW throttle on the TXI is very sensitive. The TXI has a walkthrough bow but the 197 can more easily seat two across in the observer seat.
  7. The 4 hour saturday stream link in the original post appears to all be jumping. Where's the men's slalom finals?
  8. Happy to see it wasn't a joint injury, those metatarsal breaks should be easier to rehab than tib/fib. @John Brooks I'm not sure prop wash is a great indicator of boat path. At the end of the lake when I turn the boat and drop and look back down course, the prop wash is easily 10 feet to the left of the boat guides.
  9. Since I couldn't find the info anywhere here, In case you missed it, here's Joel's crash to win the Worlds: (starts at 4:40) and here's a before and after xray of his foot https://www.instagram.com/p/B1q1qj5BumF/
  10. Oof that sucks, $700 is a steep fine. I feel your pain trying to course ski on a public lake, there's always something... Was this right by the launch on your lake where everybody skis? If so, its kind of a dead end, shouldn't be much traffic there anyway.
  11. This entire conversation is way above me, I have nothing to add beyond this...
  12. I replaced mine with goretex this year too. Like you, flaming hot at first! so much so I burned my finger after touching it for just a moment. I loosened the nut to get a steady drip while I figured out what I was going to do. After an hour or two of runtime, it stopped getting hot and is now cool to the touch. I then tightened the nut as much as I could by hand and have left it there.
  13. @blakeyates open the video up in the imovie app on your phone. there's an option to flip the video in there. I've done it several times when I have my rotation lock on and then go to film myself. With your project open, scroll the timeline until the clip you want to rotate appears in the viewer. In the viewer, move your finger and thumb in a clockwise or counterclockwise twisting motion over the video image. When the white arrow appears, the video clip has been rotated 90 degrees. It may take a moment for the clip to appear rotated in the viewer. Repeat this gesture as many times as necessary to achieve the orientation you want.
  14. I too have a ski doc. It does shake some, but I just replaced the foam in it and its better now. the key is to have the lightest phone and mount possible. This is the mount I use with my Iphone 6s: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00OS9E6AO/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I also ski with a guy that has a wakeeye xt-1. I like it bettery, but ultimately if you get slack at the ball you're going to get shake with any mount that uses the rope to track.
  15. Not very legal (especially with the wheel kit) but here's how we moved a boat lift this winter. Went down a 2 late state highway for about 10 miles, had to hug the fog line to keep from going over the centerline. I'll add even though it seemed very high, we easily cleared stop lights and power lines B)
  16. thank you @EricKelley and @BobH for clarifying the video on the site does not have all the frames! .
  17. Is it just me or does it look like she is narrow on 5?
  18. @ski4xtc where is the drain plug then?
  19. I'll echo what @vtmecheng said. I justbought a used dual boot setup and got it installed last week. It takes a little elbow grease modifying the boots I have (radar carbitex). Standing on the back of the boat it feels like there is more play, but I don't notice it while skiing and skied right up to my personal best my first set (3@ 28off, 34mph) and have 4 sets on it now. I'm not sure I 'needed' it, but I had some extra cash this spring and figured if it saves me a trip to the ER, its paid for itself. I had one fall where I thought it would have been nice for it to release since I tweaked my ankle slightly, but reviewing the video after it didn't seem all that bad, just hit my back on the water :)

    Re-power

@Jody_Seal assuming a sbc in the old boat, what is required to convert then? For example, I have the 2004 indmar MCX. Of course versions of that engine after 2008 had ZO, but what does it take to get one like mine there?
  21. Is there any merit to having a thicker/stronger gate pipe? OR should I just be happy the pipes are the 'weak link' and not the mainline?
