Post pics of where you ski . . .

Let's see it. Where do you spend most of your time skiing? Here is where I have skied most the last several years. I did get an invite to a private ski lake with a course next week, so I hope to start spending some time there, but this place doesn't suck for free skiing if you get up before the other boats.

This is Redfish Lake, near Stanley, Idaho. About and hour from where I live. @Oldskeer, this is where most of those comp boats you saw in Hailey go, though some go to the other mountain lakes nearby. This is the jewel though. You are looking at the bay we ski into. From about here, way back in there, then back out. Pretty good wind shadow, and usually less boat traffic, though after 11 on a weekend day, time to break out the tubes and the wakeboard.

Water is pretty dang clear. (Yes, that is my old outboard I currently ski behind) When we first moved, I felt almost bad about putting in here it is such a nice mountain lake. Named "Redfish" as salmon have always come back to spawn here. The native runs are struggling, due to dams on the lower snake and columbia and other factors, but some make it back.

It makes me very happy to ski here with my family. Where is your place?

@Ryno I was in Australia this past December visiting a friend I met at school. Greatly enjoyed my trip but and hope to one day return and have the possibility to ski in your country. Such a fun experience and cant wait till I can make it back. It sure is a neat country.

@akale15 Yeah I can't think of anywhere better to live. It's the middle of winter here now, and my local ski spot still has a water temp of around 16 deg C, so with the help of a dry suit/long wetsuit you can comfortably ski all year round.

Nice pics guys! @jipster43, I have been to Lake Cushman and I think skied there. I also skied at some other little lake on KPN with a course one time, behind a stars and bars boat. Cant tell you where now. I grew up skiing in the Tacoma area. Other than around Fox Island, this is where I grew up skiing.

First, as a "visitor" on the sand spit you see across the small bay, then from my folk's house and the dock on the left in the foreground. Cushman would be straight across the more open bay, (Carr Inlett), and further onto the peninsula toward the Olympics you can see if the day is clear).

Puget Sound area skiing is awesome! Glad you are having fun and learning in MT now.

@sunvalleylaw I grew up in The 'Burn (Auburn) and skied at Lake Tapps when I wasn't skiing at Lake Cushman. I lived in Olympia when I was in college and moved to Tacoma for a year after I graduated. So I'm pretty well versed in the south end! I still get back to Lake Cushman for a week in August. This year my visit will coincide with a tournament at Rainier Lake and possibly a couple at Broho - depending on my wife's tolerance levels!

@jipster43, I was a University Place kid, then later out at Horsehead. I never skied at Tapps, but knew it well. If I were to move back, it would be somewhere in the south end. The sound is so much better there, and there are lots of other good places to ski too. I never made it into a tourney, nor onto broho or the other purpose built lakes. Maybe some day!

This is where I ski. Frameswitch ski lakes north of Austin Tx. Skied here in the late 80s and early 90s and just started back last year. It's kinda of a mud hole compared to all those beautiful places above but its just a few miles from my house and leases are very reasonable.

And in contrast a few winter shots

This is how we do New Years on the lake, big brush pile and walk onto the ice to watch fireworks. So cold this night that the beer froze if we didn't keep it by the fire. Within a minute of opening it was a slushy.
