  1. @ScottScott Each day it was a different tequila shot or two or three
  2. On May 11, took my first big crash slalom skiing. Running extremely late into buoy four I decide to turn it anyways and head to buoy five. What I think happened was; I ran over the slack rope while being pitched forward, my back foot out. I release the handle, I believe it ended over the tip of the ski which made a small crack in the ski. But not as bad as the rope wrapping around my right arm and right leg with the handle over the ski, the slack pulled tight, the rope broke thankfully. Thanks to my friend and Driver Mike he came back immediately, rescued me got me to the dock and rushed me to the hospital. No broken bones lotta vascular damage and torn muscles. I’m back on the water eight weeks later. Did I take it easy? Hell No right back at it
  3. @AndyP is it leaking at idle? If it is you may have clogged air bleeds, back out the air bleed screws on each side take carb cleaner with the little straw and spray, it should come out in side of air horn hole on each side. (do not look down air horn) eye full of carb cleaner not fun.
  4. I bought a home 4 years ago in Orlando on a lake. My requirements were simple lake with no public access, established ski course, that I could watch Skiing from the dock. I also wanted to be on the east side of Orlando, access to a toll road because I have an office in Jacksonville I travel to once a week. The house itself was not a major concern but needed to be at least a 3/2 block home due to hurricanes and termites in Florida. I should also add I grew up here in Central Florida about 40 minutes from Orlando. My family owned a lot on a lake where we had a boat house and dock but the course was on the opposite side of the lake. Not much fun you couldn’t see the skiing action from the dock.I do have to say I scored with the house right price functioning dock with Lift and boat ramp. I did not get to ski on the lake before I bought but if there is a course it’s skiable. If you have any questions feel free to ask
  5. Yes, makes no since to change skis and quit messing with your ski. Your not a pro skier look at the buoys and go around them, go to the gym, take lessons. Unless your plan is to take forever to get better
  6. First do not try to treat bad gas drain it, siphon it out what ever is easy for you. Just get out as much as you can. Phase separation of ethanol blended fuel is a terrible thing. Then put fresh gas in tank with Sea Foam
  7. I used Klasse, did not last much longer than wax on the hull. If you want your boat to shine be slick and give some protection on the out side. I found Meguiars ultimate waterless wash and wax spray it on before you wipe your boat down. WARNING very slick do not put any were you step on the boat.
  8. @swbca since your in Orlando demo skies from Performance ION and R2 they ski different 67" should work for you at 32mph.
  9. I am a tournaments Skier as of last year. Hopefully this year I’ll go to regionals but will probably never qualify for nationals. I typically Ski with InTow ropes. Seeing that I was going to ski tournaments I bought two of the MasterLine ropes to practice with because they do feel different. What surprised me was that every tournament I went to was using either a Radar or HO rope. I think regionals and nationals would be different?
  10. "I don't see how this ski can be any better over the last version" "Dammit they did it again, another winner"
  11. @MNshortliner That's what I thought and did this year. This old dog can't learn new tricks
  12. Best feeling ever and Orlando temp today 88 and Thursday 90 you may never go home to New York
  13. I had a slight miss in my 08 196 this is what a faulty rotor looks like. seems to be missing something. Rotor had less than 100 hours on it
  14. @floridagm you are probably right! I blame all my missed buoys on you. Looking for new driver east Orlando, Help!!! Gary's trying to kill me
  15. After many years of holding the handle the wrong way I made an attempt this year with the correct hand position. Five sets freestyle getting used to grabbing the handle. Now five sets through the course I can’t get it. It’s amazing how foreign it feels. I’m turning 60 this year and I should’ve known better. I almost made it through 35 off last year and running many 32 off’s I don’t expect to excel beyond 35 off. I finally became semi comfortable running my 22 offs my opener could not even run a 28 off. Experiment over
  16. Can you guys post pictures here on BOS of your stance?
  17. My 08 196 light comes on a lot and sometimes stays on for the day. Temp and oil pressure are fine. Have had read and shows low temp, changed out temp sensor, light still comes on been like that for the past 400 hrs. Runs perfectly. To be safe have you computer read
  18. Today will be my first day skiing the course with the correct grip. I have skied 5 sets free style over the past few weeks getting comfortable, after many years doing it wrong. Still not sure. Will update later, just waiting on my ski bud to drive. He is trying a new ski today should be an interesting day
  19. Do we really need more power? The current engines work fine, I do not think I have used full throttle to pull any one up at sea level in Florida. Most of the boats I drive have 5.7L and 6L's
  20. Can't wait to listen to on the way home today. I was burned out in September last year. I normally start skiing in March but a buddy bought a new boat and we swapped out my boat on the lift and started skiing a lot in January since the water was warm last winter. Had a great year but by September I was done I did continue to ski but my skiing fell off. I also canceled my last tournament. But after a break and the cold weather is behind us in Florida, I have skied twice this month and can't wait to ski The fire is back!!!
  21. Well today was my first time skiing with the correct hand grip, after many many years holding the handle the wrong way. Just made some free style runs WEIRD!!! I Could not get my hip to the handle and I was reaching instead of pulling the handle in. I think I had to see myself grab the handle. Will keep at it a few more times before I feel confident trying the course
  22. Can you Believe it, The water in Orlando Florida dropped to 59° but it warmed up to 61° Ski New Year’s Day air temperature supposed to be 83° I’ll be in the January rollcall
