  1. When you are high on the boat, and at the best possible angle coming into the gates, does the 'window' approaching the gates seem small? Just looking for clues, as I approach the gates, that I'm at the most efficient angle (aside from being early into 1 ball). It might take some replies for me to better articulate what I'm trying to say, ha. On paper, it seems like if my angle into one ball is late, then the gate window probably will look big (or wide). Just the opposite for a great gate. Yes.....No?
  2. The towel threw me off. I couldn't figure out what was going on, ha
  3. I was told shaving my legs would help me gain a couple buoys. You're saying I could've just hopped on this ski instead??
  4. @Horton fair enough on the 'give' vs 'take'. I'm clear the boat is in control and talking the handle away from me. Poorly worded. Thanks for the detailed response. Do you think driving the turn with the feet, shins, knees....is a common answer among shoreline skiers? I don't feel like it gets talked about enough, unless I'm reading over that part of conversations. Maybe it's second nature to most skiers. Probably a poor example but in a golf swing when the club as at the top/apex......the part of the body that leads the swing down is pretty crucial (and gets talked about quite a bit). Would the K.I.S.S. bullet points be, *Stand tall, *Stay level, and *Lead from the feet, shin, knees?
  5. What mechanical characteristics would you describe are taking place at the buoy? In other words, what is physically taking place that initiates your turn in? Is your focus on your feet, hips, shoulders, eyes, etc.? I don't think I have a clear concept on what the best technique is. I find my turns to be inconsistent sometimes, I think it's because I don't have a great concept on what should be taking place. I have a pretty good understanding of my pre-turn (standing tall, balanced, handle to hip, etc.). Once I give the handle back to the boat, where should my focus be to initiate the turn? Thanks
  6. @chrislandy, I was referring to guys willing to drop 20 grand, so they don't have to carry gas cans down the dock anymore.
  7. I feel like price point, run times, and charging times will have to make some pretty impressive leaps before electric boats take over the gas powered boat industry. I'm excited to see where technology goes, but the last thing a "all in" diehard electric guy wants to say is.... "Can we ski behind your gas boat? My electric has 2 more hours before we can take it out"
  8. A cool video to show accuracy would be driving through a slalom course and watching the markers bounce off the turn buoys
  9. @Ed_Johnson couldn't have said it better. I went from miserable tennis elbow to absolutely nothing. The only change for me was a straight handle to an ergo radius. Somebody can research the 'why' if they want to, but I'll just keep buying the radius handles.
  10. I ran the ski close to stock for awhile and was really pleased with the results. Recently I went to a short and deep setup that buoyboy1 recommended, and was real happy. That setup cleaned up my onside and I'm still getting great results on the offside. My current numbers are 29.75 6.922, 2.480, .756 wing 8. I'm using the CG fin. Buoyboy1 recently recommended bumping my DFT to .762 with the water cooling. I haven't done that yet, but I'm guessing it'll be a good move.
  11. Now I know what it means when they say a picture is worth a 1000 words
  12. Safety check and Coxy were the words of the day, ha.
  13. @skimtb I really liked the NRG, but I love NRG R1. The R1 has a lot of characteristics of the standard NRG but adds more consistentancy and predictability in the turns. The R1 also has one of the best offside turns I've experienced.
  14. @buoyboy1 I ran your numbers the last few sets, and so far I'm really happy with the change. I was close to stock fin settings before, but was running the CG fin around . 741 My current numbers are identical to yours at 29.75 6.922, 2.480, .756 wing 8 (using CG fin but same settings with stock fin). For those wanting to play around with some numbers I encourage you to try these.
  15. @pregom, because the question was asked April of 2019.....
  16. Blade turbulence will be the new "rooster tail/bump" discussion.
  17. Does Trent have the ability to draw on the video screen to help explain his analysis during lessons, or does it require a special program?
  18. A little taller and she could be well into 43' off....
  19. A 10' basketball rim doesn't keep a guard from draining 3's all day long. No disadvantage there. A specified buoy distance with a specified rope length, that is only obtainable by body length, caters to taller (longer reach) athletes. There will always be vertically challenged slalom skiers that are just gifted and can run extereme shortline. Think what their potential would be if they were 6", 8", 10" taller.
  20. 2:15 Hilarous :D 2:33, dad is speechless, lol
