  1. @wish I've read about Mustang owners moving the ECM on their vehicles due to heat. would need some kind of a cable made up to do this, but I like your idea. another option could be to remove the dog house to see if anything changes? OR swap the ecm from another boat that has no issues to rule it out.
  2. could it be the ECM acting up? they are prone to age (and heat).
  3. @Drago they take the top 7 from 2018 final Elite ranking list for Masters, JT is 8th on that list, so should be in, but only if Nate is out... http://www.iwsfranking.com/2018/2018MSEliteRankingDB.html http://masterswaterski.com/2018-pro-masters-criteria-three-event-waterski/ Are the Masters is trying to pull strings to get the golden boy skiing on Robin Lake? ;)
  4. something that is not often known about in Canada is there is exclusion from having a spotter or operating outside the sunrise/sunset regulation is if the vessel is under taking formal training, competition or ski show. Been in there for years. I carry a copy in the boat, along with my WSC ID card... you must meet the requirements of WSC for formal competition/training. Most modern ski boats do. Water Sports 1005 (1) No person shall operate or permit another person to operate a vessel for the purposes of towing a person on the water or in the air (a) unless a person on board other than the operator is keeping watch on every person being towed and is communicating with the operator of the vessel; (b) unless there is seating space on the vessel to accommodate every person being towed; © unless every person being towed is wearing a personal flotation device or lifejacket or the vessel carries on board the personal flotation device or lifejacket that would be required under Parts 2, 4 or 5 if the person was on board; or (d) during periods of restricted visibility or in the period beginning one hour after sunset and ending at sunrise. (2) Subsection (1) does not apply in respect of a vessel that is operated during formal training, in an official competition or in a skill demonstration if the vessel meets the safety requirements of a governing body respecting that training, competition or demonstration. https://laws-lois.justice.gc.ca/eng/regulations/SOR-2010-91/page-18.html#h-154
  5. @horton Aiden Willers IIRC. nice dude, I actually got to watch him ski with the contraption he made up for his hand after his injury. pretty sure he ran through -35 without issue!
  6. @eleeski look again. the IAAF has announced new requirements, mostly because of Caster Semenya, which she is challenging in court. They have lowered the amount of testosterone for female athletes in certain disiplines to 5nmol from 10. see: https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2018/apr/25/iaaf-testosterone-rules-caster-semenya good luck keeping women involved in sport if this is not nipped in the bud IMO... hard enough as it is to attract female athletes, especially waterskiing! As a male athlete I could give a damn and frankly with only 1 or 2 people to ski against at most comps, bring it on! There are more than enough women who can kick my ass running buoys and do so on a regular basis! for sports like running, there is little on the line, but in other sports like say MMA, lives are on the line. A biological male fighter who's transitioned could easily kill a female fighter, its not even close to being fair or safe.
  7. you get 50-70 extra HP with a GT40 over the carb'd 351 as well as easy starting. well worth it.
  8. If we can't discuss gross athlete misconduct here when they involve those at the top of the sport, shut the site down! Thank you @horton for sharing as I Have heard lots over the years but it's 2nd or 3rd hand info so I have no business sharing publicly because the allegations are very serious and unproven. However, Is the saying not? "where there's smoke, there's fire". Guess we will find out..
  9. Malibu response also great boats, no wood and easy to work on 350 powerplants. 95-97 can be had pretty cheap usually. 98+ has a better wake. the Sportster also great boats, inexpensive but not as great for slalom. here's one: https://redding.craigslist.org/boa/d/malibu-response-1999/6807720945.html
  10. @jakecuz23 ever tried a 68? Would give you more room to work with and may be a better size for you in many skis.
  11. @wish. Maybe it's good, won't really know until you take it off and play with it to see if it's failing. They will develop small cracks or holes eventually. If its original I'd suggest replacing. It's a $12 part. https://www.skidim.com/prodinfo.asp?number=RK045098
  12. If you haven't replaced before, There is the little fuel hose inside the cell. Pcm has a rebuild kit, might as well replace when you do the filter. They start to crack eventually
  13. I'm guessing you aren't an experienced tuner, or high end skier, save yourself from possible injury and mount it on the wall, better yet get JB to sign it! then trade another pair of sneakers for an even newer and better ski off Ski-it-again. like this: http://www.ski-it-again.com/php/skiitagain.php?endless=summer&topic=Search&category=Slalom&postid=49770 or this http://www.ski-it-again.com/php/skiitagain.php?endless=summer&topic=Search&category=Slalom&postid=48682 will be a much easier ski to ride and likely didn't have a pro flexing it at 41off... skis deteriorate, especially with repeated heavy use. Kind of a collectors item ski too, could be worth something someday! The issue you will have with many skis, is it appears your back boot is the feather frame which I believe will only mount to late model radars. Front boot will mount to any newish ski. The radar posted will have no issue accepting that boot and is light years better than the F1
  14. Goofy is right foot on the board, left foot push/behind, there's no debate or science behind it.
  15. What kind of handle is it? Doesn't look masterline... Ive never worn a bar out before the rope on mine and better still, since I switched to the carbon custom handle. As has been stated already, the kevlar gloves are trashing it. Switch to amara palm gloves. Boa-A are amazing. Use kevlar liners if you absolutely have to, and if you do, you are in gloves a size too big. You should barely be able to get them on new. +1 on hockey tape until you get a new handle, anything else will be too thick and spongy. Forget re-stringing it yourself unless you are okay with the chance of ruining it entirely. At least with some tape you can keep using it.
  16. Puerto Escondido is also known as the Mex pipe, waves can get crazy big. My step-brother lived there for many years in the winter as a surf bum and I have been told by many other hardcore surfers (I'm a neophyte), that the surf there is amazing, partly because its a great town as well. I'm sure there are some breaks that are more consistent, but you need to hike to get to them.
  17. Just replaced original spark plugs and steering cable in my new to me 2001 Nautique bubble butt. Just broken in!
  18. @skihart yep. Dodd posted a deal on insta. Have to buy direct I think
  19. @WoodySkier I have gloves that are 5 or 6 years old that are still together, 100s of sets. The leather is stiff as a boarx, neoprene is ok. They dry out fron the wet dry mostly, not when they're only a few new. Bad batch or 2nd is my bet. Hopefully my2 pair hold up! I do find and much prefer for my hands a dry pair of gloves for each set. I also think the gloves end up lasting longer and don't stretch as much as a 2nd set on wet gloves they keep growing. My 2.
  20. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07514NHG7?th=1&psc=1 non kevlar, which I prefer. I just oreder 2 pair. go smaller...
  21. thanks fellas, really looking forward to it. Record setting cold for us today. hopefully skiing this time tomorrow!
