  1. Need a CAN edition. Red/blue and white Maple leaf. For those that remember, they splashed a number of prostars out of I believe Peterborough Ontario in the early 80s. Many of them are still around today.
  2. The biggest difference in pp to zo unless you're skiing shortline is the gate imo. Pp almost always gasses the fck out of you at the gate. It sets a poor rhythm and can be tough on the driver too. ZO is always there. I ski way better on Zo but I also ski more on new Zo boats by about 4:1. I'm dialed in after 1 to 2 passes after some sets on pp. Love Zo and wish I could afford a boat for the 20 sets I do on pp every year but it's really not worth it for me. Investing in a personal driver would be a better investment for me
  3. I have an 01 GT40 SN and it has the 422 and SG w/zbox. Works great and yes the speed will vary when running through the course to keep the times at the buoys on. I run up to about 45mph at about 1200' ASL and 4800rpm at WOT At 34.2mph I'm pulling almost 3600rpm. This is typical with this prop and the reduction drive tranny.
  4. Lol. Not filing my ski... I usually get the carbon handle from masterline but they hAd a great deal on handles this year with funky custom names so I jumped on it. 100mph tape might just be the ticket. Thanks ?
  5. Anyone have a home made solution for rope bridal protection? Have a new masterline handle that i didn't get the rope protector on but it's already starting to Frey after a dozen sets. Is there a tape or plastic I can manipulate?
  6. Have a 67 Vapor Pro 2018. Excellent condition $850 & A pair of RS1 boots left/right. Size 9. W/plate. They are in good shape, but used. $150/pair Good setup for someone. $900 together
  7. The 94 MC is a dinosaur to the 97+ TSC1 and also inferior overall to the 90-96 nautique. Great boat the 94 prostar but Joel has it nailed ?. It's sad the 95-02 prostar is so poorly meligned, however true. It's sad the 91-94 hull gets so much praise. The 95 prostar improved on a lot of features from the 94.
  8. I feel old posting this @ms but what the hell,it's classic Jerry, classic!
  9. Great interview. Very intense athlete, we can use more of that dedication and intensity in the sport.
  10. @dw getting a free fin isn't exactly sponsored... none of these skiers would use it if they didn't like it.
  11. He was yes. https://finwhispering.com/
  12. I'd say Elizabeth is a famous skier and tip rise is part of her style. Nate was running it too. Jmac does as well and recommends it with no affiliation. 3@41 good enough? He pulls the tip as well, way before using a whisper fin. I've not tried it but I'd like to! Haters gonna hate
  13. Do you guys have to use soap? Been out of the soap game for 10+ years!!!
  14. That's too bad. Nice guy, got to ski with him probably 7 years ago now on Cowichan.
  15. check in with Shawn at Cowichan Lake. https://cowichanlakemarina.ca/skishop/
  16. The tidal Looks like a nice vest but I haven't seen it in person. I don't love the minimalist drifter and it seems a little on the cheap side from others I see using it, but it does look great! So is anyone using the Tidal vest? Comments? What size? TIA
  17. I don't recommend them unless they keep you skiing when you couldn't otherwise. The Strap CAN definitely get stuck on the handle if you don't release your fingers, which is sometimes very tough in a lean lock situation out of the buoy. I've had it happen a few times, but without serious injury. Funny enough it was my shoulders I was trying to protect by using them but could have made my injury worse. I think its better if you can feel the handle in your finger tips and learn to not over grip the bar. I have used the old and new inside/out version of the Vice gloves. They are nice gloves but now that I have good grip strength, much prefer a regular glove.
  18. people for some reason slum on the 90-96 Slant back nautique, not sure why? from I believe 93-96 they are no wood construction. Built like a tank, ski and drive amazing through 35 off. the 91-94 Prostar is likely a better all around slalom boat and more attractive but the slant back is an amazing boat. I have an 01 TSC1 SN (bubble butt) and regularly ski a 96 with the same GT40 motor. I would definitely take a 95-96 Nautique over the same vintage Mastercraft or Malibu, but for sure the bubble butt is the cats ass of that vintage slalom boat. people also slum the GT40 ford motor you most commonly find in the 95-01 Nautiques, unwarranted as well.
  19. @tru-jack give Jmac a call, he's been in the seat of the 21 (w/tower) for most of the summer and it's still at the dock. Gorgeous boat. Can still get some sets in too and if you are interested in one, perhaps a test drive? Everyone I've talked to says its easier to drive and tracks better. I don't notice any difference in pull compared to the 2020 on the end of the rope, which is a good thing.
  20. Except almost nobody seems to wakeboard anymore. Fortunately some of them are going back to skiing but most are just surfing
  21. I had a sportster on a big Lake. None of the other boats are materially bigger nor will handle materially better in rough water.
  22. Sportster for sure. It's a step over so you won't get much wind. You can also put a snap on bow cover. They are low slung so you need to be careful not to dip the nose!
  23. Use it for dock/anchor line. Got to be over 10 years old
  24. It's okay for rec skiing but even at 28off if you pull hard it's going to act as a bigger lever being connected to the bow. Found they Creek a lot. Take it off
