  1. Paige Rini started on a cut down radar MPD. Rini has been known to do this, but also has a larger quiver of free skis most of us don't have.. 200 for a TRA sounds pretty damn good but it's not the same construction and it's a senate shape. There's a reason the TRA is $349 MSRP vs $1899 for the vapor pro. Also only comes in 63 and 65. There may be some advantage to a wider tail for kids and "pro" ski construction like a more advanced core and layup, and a smaller ski. https://youtu.be/1Zh7hm1gkkQ?si=6cYX5m_eonyDbSfw
  2. Wow. Crazy. Couldn't y'all just keep a notebook in the boat of hours started and ended? I'm sure there's a level of honesty but if it's a small group like you have, hard to cheat.
  3. awesome broadcast dude! Top notch for sure. Thank you!
  4. I thought the webcast was amazing. Well done Kelvin and all the announcers! Tony is great but it was awesome having some high end local skiers on the mic.
  5. Takes me an hour to winterize my nautique. Couldn't be easier! My 01 has never even been to a mechanic or dealer and I'm just an insurance salesman lol. Working on the inboard is so easy. I have no idea what's involved in maintenance for the big 4s outboards, can't see it being cheaper Frankly but idk. That said the new J is gorgeous but if I was buying a J 'Craft it would be a refurbished 19' short deck and it would and a 225 Merc 2 stroke on it
  6. No comparison to tracking. Ive spent aot of time in the older 17 and 19 footers. Good for rec skiing not course skiing. Good for show skiing and footing. The wake is Bigger on the new 21 but they apparently track better. I haven't been behind one but know some who have. The new big 4s motor is mass massive and blocks the rear view. If you want a go fast boat and a ski boat this is definitely the one. They're damn gorgeous. Totally custom but not a replacement for a direct drive.
  7. Long and shallow on my 21 66" but many seem to like short and deep 29.5 - 29 3/8 2.435. .750-.765 6.975 - 6.98. 9deg
  8. Just moved to reflex release this season after 15 years on double radar. I'm using the new radar boot on the radar plate with 840 release. In the back I have an HO venom rubber. Got it dialed in, no prerelease or crashes this year, and skiing great until yesterday morning! Hit 6ball in a nasty cross wind and did a full ejection otf. Front radar boot released out of the plate and back foot out of the rubber, no problem. Swim to get the ski and back on the platform and see my rear foot is definitely got hit on the top: I'm thinking it was either the release or the front boot that hit the top of my rear foot. X-ray shows no fractures thankfully! But it's definitely not great.. Anyone have suggestions on how to limit injury from releasing? The used to sell covers for the release but you don't see them around often and 8 can't find them for sale. Might have to move back to dbl radar for a bit while the foot heals.
  9. Great show but I need to re listen, there was a lot there and names I didn't pick up on. Chad got f&-ked, no question. 13 years? Ridiculous. Fired, for sure and probably a long time ago, but long term jail seems like a stretch based on the charges, everything else is heresay he said she said from.drug dealers. Not enough about Waterskiing.. My 2.
  10. The 97-01 ski nautique CB and OB are effectively the same boat, I believe they pushed the helm back just very slightly on the ob. The previous gen 94-96 hull, they moved the engine back for the ob and it doesn't ski the same at all. Any 97+ ski nautique 196 is still a great skiing and driving boat by today's standards. Not much room up in the ob though! 206 is a rec ski boat and a wake boat in comparison to the 196.
  11. At that depth, individuallly anchored course would be feasible and accurate. If need be go subs at 3 feet below the surface and remove the buoys
  12. Its not that I don't like it, I could get used to it long term. I skied it a few sets and liked it enough to keep riding it the week before a record tournament. The vapor is very fast and builds space before the buoy better than the titanium for me. Vapor takes less work but also doesn't turn as easily or into as much angle, especially offside. I've been on vapor since 2014, my current ski is a '21 66" so I've been on the style of ski a long time now and tough to change. You could always try a comparison between the 2!
  13. I have a 66 Titanium with 6 sets on it. Like new. $999 obo. Really really good ski but I'm back on my trusted vapor
  14. This worked! Will continue playing with this as the baseline but feel good first set! @The_MS like you said holy Offside on this ski, hold on!
  15. Gracias amigo! Ya I'm at 29 1/16. Not likely making much difference with the extra 1/16.. not that is notice. More smear would be good, less tip bite. I'll try this setup next set! I was probably dumb to try the long and shallow but that's where I was with my vapor while most seem to like short and deep on it too. Ive told lots of skiers not to just carryover settings from ski to ski but to try factory first but didn't heed my own advice!
  16. Not on this plate unfortunately. New radar carbon plate for the reflex release.
  17. I just picked up a 66 titanium. Very different from the vapor! 1 set on it, going to try @ms your Numbers. I tried long and shallow which definitely is no Bueno, way too much tip bite. Can't get bindings further fwd than 29 1/16 witth my radar plate, not sure if that will be an issue...
  18. It really depends on what your Ortho says. Id doubt they would recommend it especially at your age if you want to recover. You will likely have to deal with frozen shoulder after a few weeks of sling. I did. See if you can get into see a doc asap for some recommendations to prevent things like frozen shoulder and what movements you may be able to do before the Ortho appointment and physio starts. Take it slow and listen to the pros!
  19. anyone using the new Radar Carbon single plate for the reflex release & mounted a microjust on it? I've been using microjust for years on my aluminum sequence plate and I'm worried about messing up this beautiful carbon plate with my dremel!!!! https://radarskis.com/products/carbong10-front-plate-w-adaptable-mounting
  20. @HMan66 I just got on the 840, first time on reflex, but I'm using the new Vapor boot, so the upper cuff is likely softer than the hardshell reflex boots. I'm around 4 - hard to tell exactly, which is where the chart shows I should be (170lb 34mph). Had to back it off a bit to get it to release. only a few sets so far but the binding is solid. any updates from you on releasing? Interesting @Deanoski I can't imagine releasing at 5.5, as I note above it was hard to get out on the dock at 4 - had my friend stand on the back of my ski too.
  21. Awesome! Thanks. Okay I swapped out the screws for the little pan head ones and those I can get to move.
  22. How did you get those rear screws to. Bite? I just mounted mine up and with the release bar mounted in the FWD most holes I can only screw the plate down if it's pushed all the way fwd so the screws don't interfere with the black release bar mounts with the white plastic screws. My system also came with smaller head Philips screws vs the standard flat head ones youre using
  23. What's your height/weight @deano? typically I'd be on a 67, have been riding a 66 vapor for a few years but I'm ~170lbs. HO chart says 66, 67 for those over 180.
  24. @Jody_Seal will that work with the 97-01 SN?
