  1. I will be skiing there over this weekend and through next week. First time, looking forward to it. Did you guys use the app to book your sets? Ever ski their 8am slot? I like early AM sets but don't want to roll someone out of bed!! Any tips or tricks to make the most out of it would be appreciated, I'll be there with wife and 2 little ones.
  2. Part of the throttle cable linkage perhaps?
  3. 11k for the tower :# and another few k for the board racks. More than I paid for my used 196 with 200hrs!
  4. thanks @parkerc2112 @horton I guess I wasn't as clear as I should have been, although you confirmed something else I was thinking about with respect to the release hitting the boot. Can you get your rear boot/rstyle/rtp touching or close to touching the back of the front boot? I'm concerned I wont be able to get my feet as close as I currently have them, but perhaps that is not as big an issue???
  5. bringing this to the top as I'm considering going with a Reflex system and R style rear. Currently on double vapor's with my boots as close as possible. Concerned I wont be able to get my boots this close with the reflex system.. Is it possible to get an R style rear binding as close as I have my radar's without interfering with the release? I'd be going with the newer 850 release if that matters. Post up your binders and any mods you've had to make to spacing the r style. thanks!
  6. Very cool to see you do this Jay. As it seems to me, as a long time member, the only reason to join your provincial association and thus wswc is to get a competitive license or access to the tow smart insurance program. Unless you are running a school or club not much to the insurance and I've found better service and rates elsewhere. My suggestion is to focus on member benefits and to get the various clubs and schools to opt in and thus enrol their members in the association, enticing people to become active members so we are able to communicate the various disidiscipl and competitive side of the sport. Lastly, a universal need, not specific to Canada is we need to make tournaments more fun and easier to attend for both participants and spectators.
  7. I had an issue one of the first times I traveled with my sportube 3. The case was open on the belt at MCO arrivals because they didn't put the clevis pin in, fortunately nothing was missing. Since then I put a bungee cord and carabiner on the female end of the tube with a small D ring through one of the holes on the male end. Pretty much fool proof and never an issue since. Now i have both the carabiner holding the case together and the pin (also now tied on with string so it wont be lost). One key with the tube is to not have any loose items in it so TSA can pack it back easily. Most of them are used to these types of tubes for a variety of items, not just skis. I pack the ski, with vest, rope, gloves, bungee'd around the ski and a small bag with other stuff inside the tube. When I get to the rental car, the ski comes out and the tube slides into itself, taking up little space and all my gear goes into the 1/2 tube its always a "ski" never a waterski. As has been stated without a hardcase, you can't claim any damage with most airlines.
  8. Heat mold the liners, use just a very thin sock on your feet. Don't put the footbeds in and don't cinch the laces down very much. This will let the boots form snug to your feet. Once they've cooled down, put the footbeds back in and see how they are. Should have reduced volume. I have new carbitex boots coming off RS1s. The RS1 liners were thicker and after about a dozen sets the carbitex have packed out a little more than I'd like, especially around my ankle. I'm going to heat them again as well.
  9. Whats been noted re:using the boats position relative to the guides on turning in is challenging because A. How high on the boat you are will change your path into 1 and B. Rope length will change when you have to turn in. @miskier can use this method because he knows where he needs to turn in for each line length and he can establish the same width. I have typically used this method as well but I'm trying now at turning in when 1 ball and the left hand gate buoy line up. Find it's typically 1/2 a boat length before the gates @ 32 This will establish the same turn in point at each line length. The only time I find it challenging is when the glare is bad... Something to consider
  10. @TEL @ntx PerfectPass recommends mapping from the engine box. Can't comment on why or if it makes any difference, but that is clear in their instructions.
  11. @jercrane its an unspoken fact. It's florida so there are gators, snakes, spiders, etc. Were you not aware of that? nobody's doing gator talks lol. They are rarely ever seen and there are no signs, don't worry about it. No different than going for a walk in the New Hampshire woods - there are bears, coyotes, snakes, etc.
  12. I was in and out through the day on cellular and wifi and the quality was excellent. Big Thanks to those who put it on. Really happy to see Jmac make the head to head final 4, after not competing all summer. Veteran skiing
  13. @JackQ do you not maintain the same distance between front and back boot on each ski you ride? I've tried moving my back boot back from the front but always found the closer I could get the 2, the more balanced over the front foot I became.
  14. Wild. From the comments they say the course is undamaged and it's an anchored course, not cable. Just a buoy cut. My guess is the inexperienced driver felt the buoy snag and chopped the throttle into reverse.
  15. Don't need 4 digits on my 01. My code is 1-2
  16. The platinum autolite plug is just a coating over copper i believe. You might get some extra longevity out of them but no performance. I think most of the mustang guys use the copper plug. The autolite 764 is a copper plug and replacement for OEM (same as pcm you buy from skidim). Not supposed to gap platinum or split plugs IIRC. The 764 is supposed to be gapped at .044 out of the box, within OEM tolerance.
  17. I have TSC1 with the keypad. my 4 button is dead now. I have a very simple code to lessen the number of times I have to hit the buttons... also my secondary code uses a different number than primary in case I lose another button. @aupatking Nautique parts will warranty the replacement pads. https://www.nautiqueparts.com/product/keypad-black-replacement-port-side/
  18. Autolite 764 is the plug you want. Can buy em for under $2 per plug from rockauto. No need to spend any more. They should be gapped and ready to go. I put a set in my GT40 in the spring ( about 40 hours ago), my Boat runs perfect. I never checked the gap...
  19. Not sure . Give them a ring!
  20. @tru-jack mcclintocks has a 67
  21. Just tried some dry land release. Seems to come out easier as is (tongues in). @ski6jones I was about to try an r style as a way to ease my way into a front hardshell eventually. Got too good a deal on the double vapors and my RS1s have been so solid for so long.
  22. @ski6jones they are very much molded in right now as they arrived that way. Pretty stiff out of the box. I have to force them out right now and hold the tongton out while I tighten the bungees. Perhaps with repeated use they will loosen up, but that will take some time.
