  1. Another satisfied client here, although it feels more than that. I almost don't want to tell y'all because I want to make she doen't get too busy :) I was the same as @texas6, thought I ate pretty good and had a strong workout program. But nothing compared to Jenny. She has a way about her, that makes you want to train harder, and you do train harder. She keeps it changing so it is never boring and always CHALLENGING and clearly knows how to train waterskiers. She also helped me on the foods I was eating and how I was eating them, and it really helped me lean out even more than I was and eat more than I used to. I have not skied since working with her, but I know that I am stronger and will have better endurance once we start.
  2. All sports really need pros to be legitimite. The pros are the stars that should attract others to the sport. A bad example but one that shows how important personality is, is Poker. The poker craze really started when an amatuer won the WSOP. But the pros were the ones who gained the most notiriety and mostly it was the ones with personality as much as anything. As an aside: The great thing about our sport for the amatuer and one of the things that is coolest, is that you could actually go to a ski school/ski with/get a lesson/hang out for a day and talk with the pros like Andy Mapple(or name your favorite skier). Try that with golf (Tiger Woods) and it will cost you big money at a charity event or in extreme sports with Shawn White, Tony Hawk etc. not going to happen. They are too busy and have no need to mingle with the masses. But the good thing for us is the bad thing for the pros, they have to deal with us amatuers to make any money because for a multitude of reasons there are not enough events/sponsors for them to make "real" pro money.
  3. Been using K-Palm for years, really like them, they will last. I have 2 pair ready to go for the season and just bought a pair for my son. The non kevlar portions do get holes(especially the top of the thumbs) by the end of the season
  4. Stay wider at the pre gate, use knees to initiate pull in (thanks Seth!!)
  5. I skied with Scott about 5-6 years ago at waterskicancun, Scott is a great guy and knows alot about the area. It was a good time to get wet and round some buoys. I was on borrowed equipment so that made it a little funky for me, plus the salt water was very different. I would not equate to a serious ski school, although Scott does know his stuff. I guess it depends on what you are looking for.
  6. I get the same as animal and 6balls, on both IE8 and Firefox, Windows7
  7. @Horton I agree on the Strada. I really like the comfort and the safety(the reason I switched from my Animals-OTF and bad ankle sprain). I am still getting used to mine, but was getting close to my PB before the season ended.
  8. Now I have seen it all, until the next idiot comes up with something even more stupid. I only hope these guys were wearing one long safety switch, but we all know they weren't. Is now a good time to admit that I have had dreams where I have skied with no driver and somehow it all worked out? Maybe that is for the "You know you are addicted when" thread.
  9. Just spent 2 days with Seth and totally agree. Now if I could just implement it this season, versus having to waiting until the season starts again in May. It gives me something to think about all winter long :)
  10. change bad, options good. I think that is what Facebook is finding out
  11. Like PBD, I frequently do not jump right to the first unread comment, using Chrome 14.0.835.186 m
  12. This is a good topic. My season is the same as Than's I am interested in the specific exercises you guys are doing for lower back/core and any 'non' traditional exercises you do that are skiing specific. I go to the gym 4-5 days a week in the off season but I am doing the same stuff I have been doing for 15 years and am looking to change it up.
  13. just when I went and installed Chrome :) I actually like it, but still us IE for most of my browsing

  15. I agree, The deep V or ez up or Right up rope(call it what you want) is the key to success. 'My kids never dropped a ski and we used this and if I remember correctly they both were up the first or second day.
  16. I just use the latch that came with the sporttube. Than, I also have a TSA approved lock you can borrow.
  17. Coble ski school does exactly what you are looking for also, they have a large number of kids his age all looking for the same thing. We've been 4 times and it keeps getting better.
  18. Back to Golf. All the Major championships are played at much harder courses/conditions. Every US Open the talk is about how high the rough is, how difficult the hole locations are and how fast the greens are. The scores are typically higher and it becomes a true test. It is too bad Waterskiing doesn't get the exposure that it should.

+1 on Brenda. She does business the old fashioned way. She delights customers and they keep coming back.
  20. I am going through the same thing now, there are lots of threads on this on the Malibu owners site(Sorry John) about this. The HDS could be leaking from two places 1 as described above or where mine is leaking: inside the box where the box meets the floor. To find this leak, you use the same technique as above but you have the box open and dry and look for water seeping in. Mine was in the back of the box toward the ski platform. Good luck.
