  1. Yeah, and I noticed Detrick slowly crawling out of the water after his crash. He looked banged up.
  2. Does anyone know what kind of wrap, or whatever, HO is using?
  3. Dane with 2@41! .... that's encouraging regarding skiability of the water. Maybe they have clued into 4 and 6 ball going away from dock and adjusted.
  4. I tried the WF last week and the CG today on my 67.25 The WF was good at providing space and keeping the tip down on offside. The onside was allowing too much tail slide at 35/38...perhaps that could be tuned out? The CG, I barely measured it....threw it in, gave a bump here and a nudge there, I had no idea where it was supposed to be. Put the large wing on at about 8deg. BAM, smoked a 35 and got 4 at 38, then finished with a pair of 35's. Impressions? Had alot of space into the ball, quick offside rotation without tip grab, made it easy to finish the turn with strong position into the wakes. Onside turns were great. I tend to push the ski onside rather than the passive 'let the ski turn' approach. The CG provided good tail support keeping the ski moving and turned super fast. The next step is try a smaller wing. Wish I had an S-wing to try. If anyone wants numbers, I'll measure and post.
  5. @mbabiash - I tried it recently. Overall I liked it. The only issue was too much smear on my good side at 35 and 38. Perhaps it could be tuned out, but I buddy has it now and he's really liking it. He's on a NRG and is starting to run 28's with some regularity.
  6. @drago, I tried a ventral on my revolution recently. It was smooth but made the ski hard to turn on both sides.
  7. jhughes, that is unusual. It should be a very predictable ride. Note that the fin numbers Goode posts are using a slot caliper, with the FL measured from jaws and DFT using the slot.
  8. HEY @skiboat38 - I take that personally. I ain't an old fart just yet!
  9. Ian, I was the dock starter and yes I was empathetic (thanks for saying it)...because I've been there done that and I hate to see an unintended scratch. I'll bear my misfortunes to the world now... Case 1) Back in the old days you had to literally "check in" before your event started or get scratched. I was a newbie to the big tournament scene but spent the whole week onsite working Nationals in Destin (1993 or 94?) but never "checked in". After my event had started I learned somehow I was scratched. I was SOL....period...nobody could help or pull strings to get me back in. (BUT, me being a nonconformist I showed back up on the dock when it was my turn, strapped it on acting like I belonged there and skied.) Then as Karma would have it... Case 2) the next year Nats was at Okeheelee. I thought I had it all figured out. Had the new girlfriend with me, calculated the run times and when I should park, be on the dock, etc, etc. What I didn't count on (or know!) was the event being split into two on two lakes. Needless to say that nullified my calculations, I missed my turn and was scratched, and my ego...well, took a body shot to the ribs. Now that was a hard lesson! I could not blame anyone but myself. I should have checked out the onsite schedule/running order in detail. So I'll say, ultimately the rules need to and have to be followed to keep the integrity of the tournament and competition on the level. Every skier has to go through the effort physically and mentally to be ready when its their turn...that's part of it. Chalk it up to experience and the next Regionals will be sweeter. @Simpson
  10. Obrien (Mapple) Elite and/or 2018 Vapor Both were unforgiving to me.
  11. @Than_Bogan - Chad was the driver...but I was the dock starter! LOL Honorable mention for Lyman who drove the next day when she got 4.0 again
  12. Maybe I'm partial, but I'd say Bama is the best option all around.
  13. Hmm, I ran it a few times in my Revo....no issues
  14. All the top-of-the-line skis have personalities. It's important to try other skis and see what works or feels right.
  15. @lakeside7455 - it will take awhile to make it official. Of course the end course video etc etc will have to be approved, but I saw stop motion closeup video taken from the opposite side of the lake. The buoy could be seen as her binding went by it. I believe the question will be, was the handle in her hand at that instant, and I believe it was.
  16. @bishop8950 - hey, what you riding now?
  17. @Horton - I'm sure the Adamses won't mind you sending me that 'other' C75 you aren't using. ;) ;)
  18. I hear you Hortonism, I struggle with the same questions/issues. I like what @Mike Gile said....but doing that in a consistent, proper manner is SO hard to do at shortline (for me anyway). Nate told me one time, he works on peaking lean or line tension at centerline and tries to taper the intensity off symmetrically into and out of centerline.
