Baller APB Posted September 15, 2023 Baller Posted September 15, 2023 What’s up with the twbc webcast making such a big deal in regards to the negatives/ performance of the TXI going into this years Open? What a great way to push a sponsor out of this sport. I’m not sure if twbc is aligned with a boat company or not…. Tony sure doesn’t seem to like Malibu. The YouTube pre show posted today with Freddie is awkward. Also the twbc podcasts with Freddy it’s brought up again along with the Cole McCormick episode. Let’s keep the money in the sport. Love or hate the boat…. Be stoked they support this event, great athletes(interview them!) and produce a quality, high end product. Malibu should be celebrated and thanked for towing at least 3 events on this years pro tour. 🙌 Stoked to tune in tomorrow morning. Hopefully we get Freddy, Robert and a few others behind the mic!! 3
Baller_ lpskier Posted September 15, 2023 Baller_ Posted September 15, 2023 @APB You’re right. Next year could be the Glastron Open. 5 Lpskier
Baller dave2ball Posted September 15, 2023 Baller Posted September 15, 2023 @BS74 my guess is with the world so close and a Nautique event next weekend many decided to skip.

Baller APB Posted September 15, 2023 Author Baller Posted September 15, 2023 The commentary is certainly not driving customers towards Malibu. Reverse marketing at its finest. I skied a new TXI w/ a 6.2 the other weekend and it felt great. Ski a 6.2 22 mc and it’s great.
Baller Cooper_Trelawney Posted September 15, 2023 Baller Posted September 15, 2023 Men's jumping was entertaining with the top 7 jumpers all at 220' or more. I notice some big names missing from the tournament. Is it too close to the Worlds for some? They missed out on some good conditions. Lot's of PBs and a World Record!

Baller coach3 Posted September 16, 2023 Baller Posted September 16, 2023 Malibu is a fine boat, just has some differences. I asked in another thread, does anyone know if they made some hull changes to the 2024?
Baller_ DW Posted September 16, 2023 Baller_ Posted September 16, 2023 A swap to an OJ prop from Acme was mentioned. Regina noted there were at least a few variations tried.
Baller_ Broussard Posted September 16, 2023 Baller_ Posted September 16, 2023 @coach3 No hull changes for 2024 2 .
Baller RAWSki Posted September 16, 2023 Baller Posted September 16, 2023 Malibu skiers TGas and Regina perform outstanding at the Bu Open... let the conspiracy theories begin! 1 2

Administrators Horton Posted September 16, 2023 Administrators Posted September 16, 2023 @Mastercrafter @RAWSki I love a good plausible conspiracy but in this case there is nothing there. 1 Goode ★ KD Skis ★ MasterCraft ★ PerfSki ★ Radar ★ Reflex ★ S Lines ★ Stokes ★ Baller Video Coaching System ★ Wake Lending Become a Supporting Member or make a One-time Donation
Baller liquid d Posted September 17, 2023 Baller Posted September 17, 2023 Regina just set a new world record behind it. Enough said. 1

Baller Cooper_Trelawney Posted September 17, 2023 Baller Posted September 17, 2023 When was the last time we've seen 2 World Records and so many PBs in one tournament? Especially considering the lake is not in Florida and the majority of the skiers aren't regularly skiing behind Malibus (conjecture). Even the jumps were huge although there wasn't a very good headwind situation, it was mostly flat. I'd say this was a big success for Malibu and Lymanland. 4
Baller dave2ball Posted September 17, 2023 Baller Posted September 17, 2023 Malibu is a great boat to ski behind. It’s unfortunate they are not at more Florida tournaments.
Baller_ Broussard Posted September 17, 2023 Baller_ Posted September 17, 2023 @Cooper_Trelawney My mind goes to the 2002 Malibu Open at Bell Acqua .
Baller Cooper_Trelawney Posted September 17, 2023 Baller Posted September 17, 2023 @broussard if my memory is right, there was a big women's world record jump there. What was the other world record? 21 years is a long time...
Baller APB Posted September 17, 2023 Author Baller Posted September 17, 2023 It’s crazy to see that none of the new up and coming athletes have boat deals. Joel comes to mind…. If he’s so marketable you would think a brand would be all over it. I think of Joel, Jaimee, Allie, Dane & more….. Interesting to me.
Baller APB Posted September 17, 2023 Author Baller Posted September 17, 2023 Unreal skiing and results!!!

I didn't get a chance to watch. 2 WRs and a bunch of PBs? I know about Reg, but who else did WR or PB?
Baller Cooper_Trelawney Posted September 17, 2023 Baller Posted September 17, 2023 @UWSkier Joel Poland set a pending world record for Overall. Hanna S became the 3rd woman in history to jump over 190. Luca R had a PB in jump for a new Austrian record. I think there were a few other PBs or PB ties in there too. 1

I think the manufacturers are more interested in partnering with entities that reach the broader market. By that, I mean people with ski schools.
Administrators Horton Posted September 18, 2023 Administrators Posted September 18, 2023 The greater boat market is way down and they already sell every ski boat they can make. It is hard to justify any additional marketing expense. Baller UWSkier Posted September 18, 2023 Baller Posted September 18, 2023 Feels like Malibu has some pretty easy marketing fodder from this weekend if they choose to capitalize on it. When's the last time two WRs have been set in a single tournament? Though I suppose at the rate Joel is going, he'll break his own overall record 2 more times this season.
Baller 03RLXi Posted September 18, 2023 Baller Posted September 18, 2023 I hope this won't get me kicked off BOS 😄 2 3

Joel really needs to step up his trick game. He got beat by a B5. I guess tricks are for kids. Hehe.
Baller BKistler Posted September 18, 2023 Baller Posted September 18, 2023 That B5 can kick anybody’s ass. Great skiing Jake, in spite of Lyman’s soapy, funny colored water that is the bane of lesser trickers like me and skiing a different boat. Good warm up for Worlds. 1
