  1. Back at it after a few weeks off to rest the aches. HT air 30, water 45, pucker factor for sure, but at least the sun is shining.
  2. So "what if"... You guys develop some cool tests that can tell you when a ski is "no good" anymore. Now Superskier brings you their formerly favorite ski and says it's no longer working well. You test it and it still is within "expected parameters". I'll bet that Superskier will still go out and get another ski. Conversely, Hackskier (like me) brings you my favorite ski several seasons old that still works great, still getting an occasional PB, you test it and tell me it's time to hang it on the wall - probably I will continue to enjoy it as it works well for me. My point being, you can test the ski any way you can imagine, but if it's working well, the user is going to enjoy it; if they are unhappy with it, time for something new to ride - regardless of a test result. Kind of hoping this is Panda- worthy; been trying for one for a long time now!!
  3. @HortonI was ready to get one but you didn't open the package with your trusty knife - btw you should have the gal in the ad do the video next time!!
  4. @kurt doesn't look frozen yet - perfect dry suit time!!
  5. @Gale K my Wiley's has a date in the neck 9/94!! I have changed several ankle & wrist seals (easy peasy); need to do it's 3rd neck this week (this one I hate doing). Fabric is finally starting to weep so I wear my stokes shorty as 1st layer - gives me the illusion of dryness. Think I will spring for the Sea Star for Xms as I have been a pretty good boy this year!
  6. And hoping some other ballers close enough will join us at Curlew in 2024. Good friends, great skiing, fantastic eating!!
  7. Just checked out the Oak street gear page. Their dry suit, called the Sea Star, looks just like the one I got from Wileys in the 90's and still use today. I called and the gal I talked with says they did make Wileys suits, and cost of the Sea Star is $360. They are in Oegon. I also suggested she check out BOS and consider advertising as I see alot of questions about dry suits this time of year. That's a fair price for a nylon baggy and if it's the same quality of my current one, it a good value.
  8. @Gale KI loved those gloves from Wileys - sad to see I couldn't order them last year. My daughter got me a pair of Temres 282-02 by Showa; they seem bulky but kept my hands toasty warm even when wet; pretty good grip too . I have toyed with the idea of gluing a drysuit wrist seal in place of the nylon pull string one. They also held up well over two months use last year.
  9. Sadly, after 7 years of great skiing & even greater fellowship, we "lost out lease" at Bow Lake 3 yrs ago. My three great friends continue to get together Wed mornings when time/work allows. I work full time so am unable to join them anymore on Wed. We do get together at Lk Curlew for a week but sure miss the Wed Nite Crew meetings. Cougfan has drifted away from BOS; he recently got a nice Malibu Sportster and sent his Sunsetter to live with his son. I am happy so many ballers liked to follow our adventures - special times with my very best friends and ski buddies! Cougfan has picked up a nice place on Curlew; I will try to post those adventures next summer. Red
  10. Using a meter (not your dash), measure your battery voltage right after you turn off the switch. Would also be interested to know voltage at idle. What year/baot/motor please
  11. I am a weekend warrior, ski Hilltop most Sat/Sundays - only thing that keeps us off the lake is ice and white caps! Today was my 1st day in my trusty dry suit - skied by solar eclipse - didn't make me ski any better.
  12. Still waiting for that "awesome" button @Horton. One of the nicest 41's I have ever seen (in the eyes of a 15 off skier)
  13. Welcome to BOS! When was the last time the motor was running?
  14. Here's another manifold source the guys over at Malibucrew like https://marinetorq.com.au/
  15. I have read many times on the Malibucrew that magic eraser will damage vinyl
  16. Just watched some pretty intense rock skipping on ESPN today - water skiing has no chance.
  17. @lpskierI fully agree - just celebrated 36 on Monday! And I assume you laugh at her jokes as well.
  18. Years ago the INT league was great for the kids; wonderful family fun. No idea if it is still a thing.
  19. Are you doing any formal strength training/going to the gym? Skiin is hard! I had hip replaced in January, have been using a trainer twice a week since March and am in my best condition, especially core, in over 5 years (I'm 65). After work out, everything hurts except my hip for 24-48 hrs but I can ski pain free again and have no limitations after surgery. My buddy has had both knees done, he skis pain free and works out regularly.
  20. @RAWSki Details on that thingamajig please!
